Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I am loading up a large quantity this weekend and am thinking about sealing some to leave up at the cabin? Just looking for what would be the nest route to go. They will be in a dry box but I don't own a vacuum sealer for bagging them up, I was just going to zip lock them around the ammo boxes but not sure if that would be adequate?
  2. Varget, BLC-2 and 748 on Hrndy 55 grains PSP and FMJs, all have had great results with my 16" 1-9 twist!
  3. Reloading .223/5.56 my Wilson case gage has been just as good as the Dillon case gage.IMO! I did have issues with 5.56 as spoken about earlier with a very small bulge due to the extracter I believe. I just haven't been willing to do anything with the shells....looking forward to hearing more options or ideas on this topic!!
  4. Appreciate all the input, I'm placing a order tonight! Thanks!
  5. Cuzinvinny, what have you been shooting as far as bullet weight? I have title group and that's what worked really well for the zeros and my m&p so I have plenty of it on hand just not sure if that's the powder for these bullets?
  6. I have always shot zero s but do to none available, I am exploring other options with my supply dwindling. Has anyone shot x-treme, I have a m&p pro and after reading other threads I'm not sure if this is a decent.
  7. Post results on the custom sights.... I gotta get rid of the factory ones!
  8. Well i have found a load for my pro and it just eats up the target at 10 yards, but at 21 the operator needs alittle more time behind the trigger. I am wondering if my load of 4.2g of TG is one that others have found consistant or if I should let my curiosity get to me and keep going up? My power factor is still under the 130 s but under 2 inch groups are great compared to the factory ammo my pro has shot.
  9. RH45 thanks for clarification on PF! I should have got out today it was alot better in temp, but if we could go to the range as much as we want life would be perfect Thanks again!
  10. Flexmoney had a good point! A .22 rimfire is a great way to start. We have a Walthers P22 with the barrel extension and it is a great way for anyone to start and even just get some trigger time on. And cheap to shoot!!! Good Luck!
  11. My wife loves my mp pro, but fell in love with the cw9. Yes, the slide is alot to pull back for the little lady for the first 500 rounds but, it is finally to the point were she is comfortable with it and there is no issue on slide pull. The pro was definetly her favorite until we put all the rounds through her cw9 and now I have one more gun back Good luck!
  12. Well I made it to the range today it was a whoppin -12 below with wind chill, but everything went well with the new reloads. First to correct my load recipe I put 4.2 on my previous post what I realy started out with was 3.9g. I crono d them at a average of 1010, high of 1061 and low of 998and the coal was 1.135. I haven't figured out how to do PF yet ,but accuracy at 7-10 yards was good and better than WWB, 21 yards was not to great. I loaded up some 4.0g today and will work my way up farther tomorrow and hopefully have more results this weekend. The temps will not be allowing me to be out tomorrow but -30 is just tooooooo cold for this guy! If anyone could let me know how to figure out the PF I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks for all your input again!
  13. Yes, I will crono them. I m lookin for a round that is basically just a good plinkin round. Correct me if I m wrong but if my speed is ok, and my accuarcy is there in the 7-10 yards why not less powder. I am just lookin to get some accuracy and alot of trigger time. If everything goes as planned i will work up a couple loads for the 115s that are good and then move on to some heavier bullets. 115s have been ok out of my pro,(thats with my limited skills) but like I ve always heard, "the gun is only as good as the shooter." Thanks again for all the input!
  14. I appreciate all the input. All the input and research definetly says to pick up some HP 38 and Universal. Quick Draw thanks for the info, to bad I didn t read your post before I call Zero. RH45 I loaded some 115s with TG yesterday, my charge is 4.2 and hopefully I will get to the range in the next week to try them out. 8ring I am going to be ordering some of the MG bullets soon thanks for the info!!
