Finally read the FAQs

Finally read the FAQs (3/11)

  1. If no one has said it, thanks fer putting on the match. It's a lot of work.
  2. Shooters Connection has been doing that for years. And they support the sport. As well as being shooters. But glad yer happy.
  3. Take a breath. Look at the first target. Mentally run the plan. Usually say "what the bell". Load up. Screw up. Pretty much it in a nutshell. When I was trying to make B I mentally beat myself up and such. Then I went back to truly not caring...amazingly it helped my shooting. Made B. I'm not the overly serious type unless I have to be. Shooting is fun, once I went back to having fun I let all those "rituals" go. Worked for me...
  4. Sadly.....being an RO does mean you got certified by NROI. Or yer not an RO. You may be acting as one, and doing an awesome job as well, but yer not a regognized RO. Not say those that are not certified don't do a good job....just stating a fact some seem to have overlooked.
  5. Don't you have to contact HQ for it to count as a classifier? Don't believe it happens automatically, no one at HQ looks through every level 2 and up to see who shot it.
  6. Check craigslist. I got a quite good safe for 300. Fire rated and I've got more than a dozen handguns as well as 8 long guns in it.....with room for small sentry fire safe for documents inside. Just a thought.....
  7. To clarify....I do not touch the bullet hole, or even near enough to it to effect the hole. Don't touch back of target at all. I only touch the target well away from the it as a sort of a tactile aid in judging hits. Perfs, doubles and such. Thoughts?
  8. I often touch the target lightly as I score. As kind of a tactile help in counting hits or looking at a perf or possible double. It's almost 3-4 inches below the hit. Never within an inch of the hit. I was told by a CRO that this is not allowed. It was at a level 2 match. Is this allowed by an RO? And if not( not being a jerk ) could you give me the rule. I've looked and can find nothing.
  9. Although the likelihood of ever shooting at yer facility is slim, thank you for all you do to keep it running. I have limited knowledge of MD duties....and I realize it's more than people imagine. Oh, and thanks Sarge for all you do. He's my local MD.
  10. I'm not "competitive".....but I still like new stuff. I don't justify it thinking it will make me better. I want it because it will be fun. Example, I bought a .50. Quite a bit ago. For no reason other to dust cinder blocks at 1000 yards. Did it make m e a sniper? Nope. The G34 won't make me a GM either...but I like it and do actually shoot well with it.
