Had it happen just yesterday on a 3-year-old SV Open gun. I hope I can find and fit a replacement for the next match !

Of course gun presentation / index is crucial. You'll find the gun is better balanced, it helps with target-to-target transitions. One other advantage of the RTS over the Serendipity or the Slide ride + mount is the ease and repeatability of adjustments. On this aspect I found the plastic C Mores lacking from day1. As I said I had no reliability problem so far.

Oh and by the way, the French championship went great as far as the gun is concerned (dropped a ton of points on medium course trying to hose it... no podium finish this year... my bad). Running on the same OEM battery since May and 3000 major factor rounds.

Hi It's the Arredondo polymer thumbrest. Minimal fitting and seems to do the trick. Eli Huttner uses the DAA adjustable thumbrest on the same mount.

Well, just an ordinary brown patch on the sensor (front) seems to work well enough.

Austin P hows the dot transition from low light to sunny/brighter enviroment. I understand it self adjust according to the light condition? thinking of getting one too. thanks Hi The self-adjust mode is the one I use the most and the dot is still very bright ! I even had to tape a patch to the light sensor to dim the dot a little more on a rainy day... No feedback yet on a real low light / sunlight transition (like exiting or entering a dark shooting house) but I plan to try that. The zero holds well so far, and 2k rounds later it works like a charm on the stock battery. As an aside the Cheely mount on top of the ejection port avoids gunk buildup on the lens or scope body. So far, so good...

Hi people ! I finally bit the bullet and fit a RTS + Cheely mount on my trusty SV blaster. I like it ! No problem finding the dot even in the weak hand standards, improved overall balance (I used to run a "sort of 45°" Barry mount), seems like a good piece of kit. Let's hope it stands the test of time... A backup is on the "to buy" list just in case. Will keep you posted. Cheers

Hi Based on looks alone, I chose one for my latest build (a non-hybrid SV that serves as my practice gun). I shot 30 rounds and took it off : the lens of the C More is very close to the comp and fogs up almost immediately. Of course with the 90° mount no blast shield can be used. A good idea with one major glitch... I use it on an airsoft gun now !

Hi, the best quality ones seem to be Western Arms but they are close to un-obtainable. The Tokyo Marui ones are decent and far more common. Most IPSC-style customs are based on them due to the very wide array of available upgrade parts for them. Cheers

Hello This is the first time I've heard of Para mags compatibility with an STI frame ! Every Para shooter in 38S or 40 I know has used STI mags at one time ("STI for Para" or true STI mags lightly modified). Seems to me that you have passed the basic tests, let us know whether live firing confirms this... Cheers

For what it's worth, I definitely advocate airsoft as a winter training tool but it does not replace dry firing ! Just came back to IPSC after 8-plus years of other hobbies and I credit airsoft for getting my level back on draw, trigger control, bizarre start positions, reloads, etc. I picked an airsoft Hi Capa 5.1 while waiting for my actual SV and shot the hell out of it. It just died after 15000 rounds (bottom lugs sheared, just like a real one...) and another one, open-class and all metal this time, is on the way. Just beware of all the cheap equipment in the aisoft world, like C More copies with sub-standard lenses (aka See No More), fake CR Speed holsters, etc. Of course you can carry it too far like our friends in the Philippines or in Japan (short stroke slides, 1000+ dollars open guns, etc.) , but since they don't have the possibility of shooting anything else I guess they have an excellent excuse.
