Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. For the 40 Glock try a 180 w/ 3.8 - 4.0 Gr of Winchester Super Target. Very soft and very accurate. For a lighter bullet try the Nosler 135's. Also very accurate...but pricey. Miek Finch Team Sidearmor Leadheads Bullets
  2. Thanks for the replies. I'm located about 5 hours NW of San Antonio and our club is really active in the STC. I'm getting geared up for next season with the right scope being the only thing I'm lacking. Most of the guys here are shooting Redfields or the Burris with the target dot. I've looked through a Tasco as mentioned and it was a clear as some of the other scopes out here. Hope to see you there next year and here in Midland for a regional. Mike F.
  3. What scope/reticle is recommended for the rifle portion of the Sportsmans Team Challenge? MikeF

  6. I filled in for a team this past weekend at the regional shoot in Midland/Odessa. Team Eley from CO and another team from the Ft. Worth area made it in. Really enjoyed this. Looks like they have around 4 teams headed to San Antonio from this area. Good luck with your efforts. Mike Finch Leadheads Bullets Team Sidearmor
  7. Several of the Golds at the Texas 3-Gun. Some ran great. Some had problems. They do shoot softer than my Benelli. Mike F.
  8. I have a piece of weaver rail that I can mount on the Benelli rib as-needed. At the Texas 3 Gun I used an Aimpoint and it was great for the slug event, good on steel and killed the aerial targets. The guys from here using Browning Golds have C-mores mounted directly to their receivers and adjustable combs. Ugly speedloads at the Texas 3 Gun is an understatement. You forgot to mentioned the associated golf language that went along it. Mike Finch Team Sidearmor Leadheads Bullets
  9. While I have no experience with the Olympic barrel, I have a barrel issue also. I'm shooting a Bsuhmaster V-Match 24" that is super accurate (.600") that I'd like to shorter and add a muzzle break. I'm concerned that messing with this may be the wrong thing to do and could reduce my accuracy. Might be best to leave this one alone. Comments???? Mike Finch Team Sidearmor Leadheads Bullets
  10. Shot the Texas 3 gun last weekend and had a great time while meeting a lot of nice folks. I don't do much 3 gun (but will in the future) and ending up shooting 3 guns I'd never used in competition. A few thoughts after the fact..... The match required 28 slugs with one stage a 24 round event over 4 suspension bridges. I added am Aimpoint to my Benelli a couple of weeks before the match and am glad I did. The dot slayed these targets, was no problem on the steel or the 2 arial targets. My AR had a 3x9 Leupold mounted and I debated on changing to a Holosight. The rifle stages totalled around 130 rounds or so with half being inside 25 yds and the longest shots being paper IPSC targets at 200. In retrospect, I feel I could have done a little better with the Holosight as far as target aquisition with acceptable accuracy on the longer distances. Any thoughts from others who were there? Congrats to Kelly N. and Don Bednorz on their 1st place finishes. Mike Finch Midland, TX Team Sidearmor Leadheads Bullets
