  1. Does your Dillon 1050 come with dies?

    Thanks,

    Bill

Yes.  It is all set up for 9mm

  2. I put some GL101O sights on my G17, and went to the range. I was disappointed to see that my POI was about 4" high at 20 yards. I asked another experienced shooter to shoot my gun, thinking I might be doing something terribly wrong, and he had the same result. My load is 5.0 grains of Power Pistol with a 124 grain Montana Gold RN or JHP depending on what is available. When I called Trijicon, I was connected with a marginally competent customer service rep who confirmed my calculation that I need a 0.035 inch taller sight, which they have available as a non-catalogue item. It costs $79 with an additional $10 shipping charge. She did inform me that I could have exchanged it if I had not installed it. I don't know how I was to deduce this need without installing the sight first. Has anyone else had a similar problem? If so what did you do about it? Thanks for looking.
  3. It finally happened, and there doesn't seem to be any on the horizon, so I have to change (I learned as a parent that ALL change is BAD!). I load MG 124 Hp's on my 1050, and Bayou 147's on my 550. I have 4# of Power Pistol and 6#'s of Tite Group. Any recommendations for which powder to use with which bullet? Thanks, PGG
  4. Are Speer, Federal, CCI, and Blazer brass all the same?
  5. Thanks for the feedback. I'm not looking to compete with it at this point, more just trying to figure if I really would benefit from changing to a Gen4 G34 as opposed to just shooting the G17.
  6. Is it safe to put the upper from my Gen 3 G34 on the lower from my Gen4 G17? I find the Gen4 grip fits me so much better. I tried to search this but couldn't find any results. Thanks, PGG
  7. A frequent problem for me. I take the primer feed off the press and clean everything, then lube it with Hornady one shot dry lube, and the issue usually resolves. Anything that gets trapped under the 'slide' can increase resistance enough that it doesn't quite go back far enough to pick up the primer. I hope this helps. PGG
  8. I'm confused. I signed up for 9mm 124 jhp's weeks ago on the "wish list", and haven't heard a thing. Are they not using that list?
  9. Thanks for the input. My loads are nothing extreme. Unfortunately I cannot control my brass too much, other than sort out the really nasty stuff, and anything that had a primer come loose during tumbling. It sound like I may want to get an aftermarket for my G35 just for peace of mind.
  10. There have been a number of reports here and elsewhere, of case ruptures leading to "spontaneous disassembly" of various Glocks. Given the ammo shortage, and my general cheapness, I shoot mainly reloaded ammo, using "range brass" of uncertain age (After shooting, the brass is just collected and divided up). Is this a setup for a case rupture event? Would I be safer with a supported chamber aftermarket barrel? Are all the aftermarket barrels supported chamber? Thanks for looking. PGG
  11. Todd Greene at pistol-training.com did an exhaustive test with a gen4 17. A good read with exacting documentation.
  12. The LG-851. I was wondering if it will also fit a gen4 G17?
  13. Since very few of us make money shooting, by definition it is something we do to enjoy ourselves. I shoot sporting clays mainly, and I routinely get beaten by people shooting guns that cost 10% what my beautifully engraved, custom stocked gun cost. For a brief time, I switched to one of those guns to see if they were better. The short answer was no. And I didn't have the pleasure of using my treasured gun mentioned above. So I have dedicated more effort to trying to shoot to the level of the gun, but I also try to remember that I do this for pleasure. When it comes to pistols, I actually shoot Glocks better than other pistols, and I don't have any pistols that just give me joy when I shoot them the same way that shotgun does. So do what maximizes your enjoyment of the sport.
  14. I have a Gen 4 in both model 17 and 19. Does anyone know if the model19 laser will also fit the model 17? If not, what is the difference? Thanks, Rick
