  1. Not crazy...i do the exact same thing. I download with lighter spring but adjusted load to run action like i want....it's around pf140 or so....it is easy to control when your using to shooting Major in IPSC.
  2. no kidding.....i am gonna try and modify the QLS a bit to make the wrs mount......i use the same equipment for uspsa so i switch holsters all the time.....so not really wanting to go the teklok way.
  3. My load is similar....24.5gr H335 light crimp but oal is about 2.230" Stag 3G barrel 18" 1/8 twist.... It's been a while since i shot paper so don't remember group size numbers.
  4. 10" at 200 I can probably do with the XBR load, but by the same token, it doesn't mean the Xtremes are on par with the Hornadies, either. Have you put any on paper at 100-200, especially back to back w/Hornadies? yea never loaded hornadys and shot side by side. I wouldnt know the difference. I will have to go shoot paper one of these days. Our matches rarely shoot past 100yds.
  5. my teklok doesn't even come close to the holes lining up.....
  6. Hey Guys, I have done the searching already. How is everyone using the WRS holster on the QLS or teklok? I find that the teklok holes don't line up at all and the QLS is close but will have to enlarge one of the holes. I would like to see others solution to this issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks
  7. i am using them out to 200yds....hit 10" gongs all day long....shooting limited.....Stag 3g stock with spitfire.... 24.5gr H335.....oal 2.230"........I don't use the cannelure and barely crimp...
  8. this is perfect timing....I run a stag 3G with a Miculek brake. I reload but a mild load for my area matches. I am considering adding the adj gas block and going low mass direction. Is it worth adding these components to my Stag or just build up a new rifle? I also noticed the JP offers the silent captured spring with different spring rates for those w/o adj gas blocks. Would that suffice? I guess what i need to know is the difference in weight terms between the buffer and spring rate vs a shaved down low mass bolt? Which is the larger contributor to the softer recoil?
  9. 4.9 or 5gr will make major in a 5" barrel. However WST will be a much better powder for 45.
  10. major 4.7 or 4.8gr N320 with 180gr Extremez....standard spring...right around 170pf. I don't shoot minor but i have a 3gun minor load of about 4.1gr N320 but i swap out to a 12lb spring.....I do not know the velocity of this load yet.....as i just brought the load up to cycle the gun to my liking. I only use 180gr.....you can make 40minor really stupid soft. I load all my 40 to about 1.135" roughly
  11. ok...just sorted my brass from the last match....I compared my remaining reloads in my bag and the rings are not there but everyone of my shot brass has this ring.......guess I am gonna have to pull my upper apart and figure it out.... Anyone have an ideas.....
  12. Actually I am going to verify that next time out.
  13. Hey Guys, Anyone out there running this setup? Safariland website lists too many styles. What model is everyone using? Thanks in advance art
  14. Love my spitfire......all my matches are 200yds or less. I'm curious how you guys handle holdovers at longer distances?
  15. They are actually rings. No cleaning off is possible. I loaded about 500 and about 20 or so have these marks. All same batch of brass. All LC as well. I'm hesitant to change my oal 2.233 as I have rifle and prismatic all dialed in. Is there any positive to centering cannelure? I was taught it didn't matter especially as I barely crimp any way. I will clean the dies and keep my eyes open. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
