Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I have a new Gen 4 Glock 17 that I am trying to set up for both NRA TPC and USPSA. I have a ZEV/Glockworks ultimate trigger (I'm having issues with it which I have another post for). What is the deal with the spring setup? Do you feel the captured spring is an advantage? Can you customize the spring weights in the captured setup, and if so what are your suggestions and what effect do they have on recoil? Is it worth putting a comp on a 9MM(is yes, which one and why)? Which optic for open? have you tried optics other than the one your suggesting? I have always used stock type guns with only trigger and sight mods, and don't have experience in going full bore on any gun. I intend on getting a separate upper to swap for open.
  2. I recently purchased a gen 4 Glock 17 for use in the NRA Tactical Police Competition. I took it out of the box and put in a ZEV Ultimate trigger and Dawson sights. I have the same set up on my G 35 and it works flawlessly on the G35. Unfortunately, the it does not function at all with the new set up. Yes, the kit was marked for a Gen 4 G17. The kit original had an issue where the firing pin would protrude when the slide went forward. Luckily it was not a situation where it was igniting the primer. Because the firing pin would protrude as soon as the slide began to come forward it kept another round from sliding up the breach face and chambering. I replaced the firing pin with the one from the G35 and it seamed to work, but I put it back in the G35 after testing. I then inserted the factory firing pin. The firing pin issue was resolved, but the trigger does not reset about 50% of the time. Has anyone had any issues with Gen 4 glocks and the Zev/Glockworks triggers? Do you have any suggestions for solving the issue?

    Help finding Kadet 2

As the title says, I'm hoping you guys can help me find a Kadet 2 for my SP01 Shadow. I need to shoot more than I can afford to with 9 mm. I need the extra practice because I shoot my Glock 35 half a second faster on a series of 6 eight inch plates that are seperated over 15 yards. The CZ is a lower caliber and fits my hand better (with the large grips) so hopefully with practice it will be faster. Thanks in advance, Randall
  4. Thank you Lt. Braxton. I'll pick up some chokes and start experimenting using your info as the base line. The only thing I'm still looking for is the fiber optic sight. The 18" has an entirley different sight than the 22". The 22 comes with a fiber, the 18 has a white dot so I need to replace the whole unit, but I can't find a sourece.
  5. I have an 18" FN SLP that I am using for three gun. I have several questions: I saw that I can not use the Invector Plus chokes, but I am hoping to use the longest extended choke possible so that I can use a magazine tube extender. What chokes are hte longest that fit the 18" SLP? What chokes are best for an 18" barrel for: Steel Clays What choke can I use slugs with (I know cylinder works, but how small can I go)? Where can I get a fiber optic replacement front sight insert for the 18" SLP (I can't find one to save my life)? Thanks in advance and sorry for the basic questions, but I know nothing about shotguns and don't know what of the information I have already read is universal (like guys saying they use improved cylinder for slugs) and what is only acceptable for that persons particular setup.
  6. No biceps in left arm...I feel for you. Severed mine chasing down a drug dealer...they tied it back together with a cadaver tendon. I hope that I can load that fast one day with my zombie arm.
