Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I actually ended up going with the EGW 20moa ar15 rail with the Seekins/Vortex matched rings. It is an extremely heavy duty set up.
  2. Worked just fine on mine. Interesting. I've seen that technique used with two piece mounts on hunting rifles using Burris rings. I'll just go with a 20moa rail or mount though. I do not recommend it with two piece mounts because it changes the alignment of the holes for the scope and WILL cause a ring mark on the scope tube. Shimming the base the rings mount to doesn't effect that. yeah, that's why people use those Burris rings with the plastic inserts when they do that. The inserts can be adjusted to match the angle. Anyway, I agree that its not a best practice.

  4. I don't think the shim stock will work with an AR...
  5. I have a Limited Elite with the stock mag well. This issue is to be expected, and is not unique to Tanfo guns or Henning mag wells. The grip frame is steel and the mag well is aluminum. As the dissimilar metals heat and cool they expand and contract at a different rate. This causes the screw to loosen up enough over time for the mag well to move slightly under recoil. The solution is to red Loctite the mag well on. Put red Loctite on the inside surfaces of the rail that mates the frame to the mag well. Then red Loctite the screw. This keep the mag well rock solid, and you will never have to worry about it again.
  6. The Aadland mount is a very nice. Very beefy like the Spuhr. Are they in stock anywhere is the question. I've seen them here and there, but they don't seem to be very prevalent.
  7. I'm upgrading to a 6-24x50mm Viper PST with the Horus style EBR-2C MRAD reticle. I have an AR15 pattern rifle with a 24" barrel set up for precision shooting, varmint hunting, etc., and I would like to install a 20moa base. I'm considering the EGW 20moa AR15 base with Seekins/Vortex rings. What is your opinion of this set up vs. a one piece mount with built in 20moa? The PST is a big scope, and the one piece mounts don't seem offer much benefit, but the rail with rings appear to be a more rigid option. What is your experience?
  8. There isn't a good distance per se. As you "clear" the dots at a particular distance you move back another few yards. Dropping two is not clearing the dots so you have work to do at your current distance albeit not much work. This exercise is as much about patience and mental focus as it is about pure accuracy.
  9. Its amazing how going from 5 yards ( not so hard ) to 7 yards ( HARD! ) changes things on this drill I don't know what all the fuss is about. I can pretty much clear the dots at will... even at 150 yards... with my scoped varmint AR... from a bench rest... That counts right?
  10. Is anyone using a Ghost "the one" Holster successfully with a Limited Elite? What's the secret to getting it to work?
  11. A little green scotch brite or coarse steel wool and it will be gone.

    CZ75 Questions

I have a couple questions about CZ 75 accessories. First, will standard 16 round mags with the long czc mag extension work with the czc magwell? Second, can a CZ75 work in a Ghost One holster? Ghost only lists that their holster works with the SP01, but will it also work for the standard CZ75?

    Zev Magwell

I just measured it. The set screw moves 0.007" up and down in the lanyard hole. I've shot 3 matches with it, and it feels good to me. No pinching. I can't feel it move while shooting. Any ideas on how to eliminate the movement?

    Zev Magwell

I'm using a gen 3 G24. The movement is very tiny. There isn't any flex or pinching. Just a little movement in the screw hole. I may try a regular screw instead of a set screw.

    Zev Magwell

I just changed from a Dawson to a Zev stainless magwell. The Zev magwell is really solid. However, once installed it has a very slight amount of up and down movement. It appears that the set screw on the rear that holds the insert in the grip moves inside the hole in the rear of the grip ever so slightly. Has anyone else experienced this?
