Looks for Target

Looks for Target (4/11)

  1. I've been using one of his 16in 6.8 barrels. The accuracy is outstanding. With 110gr Hornday Black ammo, I'm MOA with the 3-9 Leupold VX-R Patrol optic I have on it. Took a decent sized whitetail this year at 200 yards and couldn't have asked for better accuracy.
  2. Well crap. New job and other things going on in life I'm gonna have to withdrawl. Andy I sent an email about the refund for part of entry. Thanks
  3. Sorry to highjack the thread but seeing you are talking about extensions, I've got Taylor Freeland 170mm base pads but if I load the mags with more than 24+1 rounds, I get stovepipes. Gun is setup as such Lonewolf G34 Slide and G34 6 port barrel (2 ports out front, 4 up thru the slide cut out) with 11lb Spring and Stainless guide rod Lonewolf Timberwolf Frame ALG 6 Second Mount Aimpoint T1 4MOA Taylor Freelance 170mm magazines. It seems like (in my mind) that there is to much upwards pressure on the slide with 25-27 rounds in the gun for it fully move back to eject. The rest of the rounds after the 25 feed perfectly fine, not weak at all and the slide slams home well. Any suggestions? Maybe try to tune the springs in the mags a little? Leave them loaded and let them compress? They are a bitch to get all 27rds in so I think that may be part of the problem.
  4. Finally signed up and registered for Open. Been wanting to shoot this match for a while now but have not been able too.
  5. http://www.leupold.com/hunting-shooting/scopes/vx-6-riflescopes/vx-6-1-6x24mm-30mm-multigun-cds/ Saw this at SHOT..... looks like Leupold listened when we said we wanted a different reticle than the SPR in the VX-6 1-6 Multigun scope.... This is what I will be getting to replace my VX-R Patrol I have for sale.....
  6. Come out and join us for Hillside Shooting Sports Indiana Multigun Series Event #11 Sunday, 8-31-2014. It will be a fun and challenging test of your rifle, handgun, and shotgun skills. We are planning on 7 courses of fire. MATCH DATE: Sunday August 31, 2014 Registration: 9:15AM till 9:45AM Shooters' Meeting: 10:15 AM(following the RO meeting) Match starts immediately following shooters' meeting RULES: Indiana Multi-Gun Rules Please see our website, IndianaMultiGun.com for more info. MATCH FEE: $25 Adult. SET-UP: Set-up will be on Saturday before the match and will be done by the Hillside Shooting Team, but if you are in the area and would like to come help setup, please email me and lmk you are coming. Setup will begin at 4pm and run until dark with finishing touches done the next morning if need be. Approximate Minimum Round count: Rifle – 80 Handgun - 80 Birdshot – 50 SLUGS - 2 I recommend that you bring double the numbers above for the ammo that you bring to the match. You can always take ammo back home with you, but running out at the match is a bummer! We will have 7 stages of varying degree of difficulty, including an INMG first of 2, count them 2, long range stages. Farthest distance will be 400 yards. If you shot one of our Multi-Gun matches before, you can expect this match’s difficulty level to be similar. If haven’t shot one of our Multi-Gun matches, you may find this match to be somewhat more demanding than your typical USPSA or IDPA club pistol match— expect some shots to be a bit more technically demanding, and some shooting positions to be a bit more awkward physically. It will benefit you to know the point of impact (POI) of all 3 of your guns, from contact distance out to approximately 400 yards with Rifle Long Range Rifle Targets will be 1/2 Case IPSC AR500 Fuhrman Precision Flash Targets out to 200, with 2/3rd IPSC FPS Flash Targets beyond. Please see our website, IndianaMultiGun.com for more info. NOTE: that all matches at Hillside, ACC, Wildcat Valley and NPCCC are conducted under a COLD RANGE as per USPSA rules. All guns must be either holstered (or bagged) at all times, unloaded, hammer down, with no magazine inserted. Long guns should remain bagged, or in a rack with an open action, and/or an "empty chamber indicator" (flag) in place. It is the shooter's responsibility to ensure that the muzzle of any gun is never pointed in an unsafe direction. You may only handle your gun only at the direction of the range officer (RO), or in the designated "safe areas." You may not handle any ammunition or loaded magazines in the safe areas. Violation of these or any other safety rules shall result in a match disqualification. 2014 INMG Series Presented By:
  7. If it had the Ballistic SPR Firedot that the 2-7x33 VX-R has they would have sold a million of them. But the standard SPR Firedot sucks
  8. I'm sure Travis at MGM can attest to this, but we recommend, rather, specify to not shoot our(FPS/CMP) targets with a bullet traveling at 3000fps at IMPACT. It damages the steel AND has a higher likely hood of sending fragments back towards the shooter. XM193 out of a 18 or 20in gun is really the only time you're gonna get a common produced/in high usage ammo, to even leave the barrel faster than 3000fps. Most of the general public has 16 or 14.5in guns and XM193 is traveling 2900 fps or slower at the muzzle. I regularly shoot our steel targets at 25 yards and further with ZERO issue. Its static steel but the mount thats used sits on a standard metal fence post, so the target moves around and wobbles enough that any splash back or fragments are directed away from the shooter. One of my 2/3rd IPSC AR500 targets has well over 3000 rounds impacted, with the majority of them coming from inside 50 yards with very minimal scarring issues.
  9. Has been brought to our attention that the April 20 event is on Easter. We will be moving that event to April 27 (the following weekend). Thanks to Rob for bringing that to my attention!
  10. Registration is now LIVE. Its earlier than originally stated but who else is excited about getting this year started? Plus, who else is just ready for all this cold and snow to go away! Registration is for the POINTS SERIES ONLY. There will still be registration at each event, day of each event. Match Fee's are staying at $25. Registration for the Point Series is $30. REGISTRATION AFTER MARCH 16, 2014 (FIRST EVENT) WILL BE $40. The only divisions that will count towards the points series itself will be Tac Optics, Tac Limited and Open. The Series this year is Best 5 of 14 Events with 1 required at Each Location and the remaining event to be shot at the shooters choice. Top Shooter from Tac Optics, Tac Limited and Open will earn a spot in the Shoot Off with the remaining shooters coming from Tac Optics. Obviously the more events you shoot, the better your chances of making the Top 16.

  12. I believe now that my 260 Rem is built I will make the journey. Although, I'm tempted to shoot my 18in 3gun with a 4.5-14x50 Leupold lol
  13. I have been debating on selling my Leupold Mark 6 1-6 to have some money and getting this as a replacement. After reading through all of this, I think that is probably what I'm going to do!
