Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Dear reloader, one rifle primer doesnt blow up a gun, two, maybe not, are you going to continue shooting and making the gun suffer and suffer again? Which of the rounds youve reload will be the one that cause the explosion? Respect the pressures. If you want to push your bullet more fps, then change to another calliber. Dont force the one you own to a new one. Best regards, Swagerman honoriomc@hotmail.com
  2. Dear Shooter, hope you decide in a very simple way after all you have read. I have some expirience in this matter. I would buy a Glock 17, 19 or 26. The 17 is the bigger in 9mm and the less recoil. You can also buy it in a special model, the 17 C that means is has a compensator, but be sure to shoot it by day. If you shoot it by nigh with out expirience you probablly fail the second and next shots by beeing blind by the flash. Other choice, (excelent choice) is the Smith Wesson semi autos in 9mm`s. They are the smoothest semi autos 9mm`s I`ve ever tried. They are very nice to shoot. They are good. I normally use a rule to choose a calliber. I ask myself since I was a kid, "wich are the best rifle callibers to hunt?" Well, the answer is obviouslly, 223 REM, 308 WIN, 30-06 SPRG., 7x57 Mauser. Why? because they are the militar callibers, they, (the millitar) have try them for us, and they arrive to the point that they are the best for everything. Isnt it?? Well, make yourself the same question now but instead of calliber, ask guns. Wich is the most choosen gun by law enforcement (for example) Youll arrive to the same answer, Glock and Smith Wesson guns. Best regards and good election. Sincerelly, Swagerman honoriomc@hotmail.com
  3. Dear Reloader, I have found that the best and very best reloading machine or reloading press for this great calliber is the Corbin CSP-2. If you want a very nice machine, you can also buy this machine in a hidraulic version. And if your bank account is a little bit fat and you can destinate some resources to a very high technical reloading, well, the choise is obvious, youll be buying the biggest hidraulic press that comes in a huge metal cabinet. They both comes with the adapter for the shell holder. You must order it when you buy it. Your grand children will continue using this presses. I myself have a CSP-2 and one of my employees runs it at least 4000 times per day since two years. Are you going to reload all of this .50 BMG rounds? Good luck, good shooting. All of the information about powder and bullets given to you befor this post are very great information. Best regards, Swagerman honoriomc@hotmail.com
  4. Dear Reloader, nothing wrong will hapen to your bullets if you crimp them (tapper crimp them) just a bit. All of the exceses are bad. Try with a little practice which crimp not only feeds well on your gun. If you give to your reloads a very heavy and powerfull crimp, youll notice that (maybe) the copper skin that is arrownd the lead core, my crack. This you will see it either when you disassemble the reload to look the track left by the brass over the bullet, but also in your barrel, when youll find insted of fouling, little pieces of copper skin. So, the best way to see it is by experimentation, but be carefull. Do not exceed the manufacturers presures. Notice that you are reloading a calliber with quite poor pressures that can shoot even lead bullets with out any problem. Good reload, Swagerman honoriomc@hotmail.com
  5. Dear Mr DemonIPSC, what you are looking for is nothing but a RL1050 Super Reloading Machine. Call tall free to Mr. DILLON`S Blue Crew and ask for technical assistance. They are great fellows. With this machine, youll reload all of the most known callibers, not only in hand gun callibers, but also in rifle callibers. Ive notice somthing. When you buy brand new ammo, you can (not the best to do, but you can) to load this ammo with out rezizing it. So, the total amount of ammo after an hour is of 1920 loaded bullets. (By hand reloaded by me). I registed that record with jacketed bullets and brand new brass, Starline Brass. If you use the sizing die, the total amount of ammo is quite less, not more than 1100, many hours at my bench, of course. The final product is better than excelent. Then you can find another machine manufacturer, Camdex, wich is located in Troy, MI. You can find their adress and telephone number in the yellow pages in internet. They have hand powered machines and also fully electrical powered machine. Hope that this can help you and your club. Sincerelly, Swagerman Swagerman honoriomc@hotmail.com
  6. Dear new reloader, I didnt read any of the answers that you have about this topic. But... first of all, buy yourself a reloading manual. You even have reloading manuals for just one calliber. Ask Dillon Precision. Second, and no less important, write every thing you do, record it, keep all the proofs you do. Third, why dont you go to the basics? They are still the best and no one could beat them yet. Which are they? well, im going to tell it to you because its not a family secret. Feed your gun with Starline brass (.45 acp in your case, obviusly) Federal primers. Winchester 231 powder, and of course Nosler 200 or 230 grains bullets. That is hard to beat. Want to continue seeking for best results? Change or compare with CCI primers and after it with Hornady XTP bullets. If you dont want to mess your self, well, then buy loaded ammo, Federal Premium is the best. Sincerelly, Swagerman honoriomc@hotmail.com
  7. Dear Raúl, my name is Honorio Méndez Casariego, I live in Uruguay, Southamerica. Here the local laws are incredible stupid. You can be a collector of guns, but you cant buy ammo. You can shoot them, but there is no ammo or gun shop that sells them. So you have to manage yourself to cast them and reload them. All ammo biger than 9mm is forbiden, but you can colecct them. Incredible, isnt it? Even that, we manage ourselves to make practical shooting. There is a guy, his name is Rover IROA, that has shot more than 150.000 rounds (reloaded ones) of .45 APC in a GLOCK 21. He was more than once National Champion. Want his e-mail adress to ask him if he has had any problem? Well, you can argue that .45 in 230 grains travells at no more than 900 fps. Its true, but all of the GLOCKS that I know, even in .40 and in 9mm also eats not only jacketed and factory ammo, but also cast bullets. Also know about USP from H&K in all of the callibers above mentioned. Then, will you have any problem? NO Youll have no problem at all. If you have any doubt, cast your own bullets with a Lyman 2 alloy and lubricated them with Red Rooster lube. And if you dont have any time to do this, then buy Oregon Trail bullets or Bull-X bullets. Both of them are in the internet and both of them are GREAT!!! Sincerelly, Swagerman honoriomc@hotmail.com
  8. Dear buyer, I think that .40 is the best choice. Since the calliber is totally new compared with 9mm. Also, when you go to the shooting range, and you want to look, before shooting, to the brand perfect reload that you have made, the .40 is pretty much ease to reload. Youll find that the 9mm never seems as new, in shape, as the new ammo. But that is just cosmetic. In the shooting, the .40 is much much better, it has a very nice reoil, and since you are pushing 155 or 180 grains at more than 1000 fps instead of 115/125/147, then, what do you prefere???? Another option, is: why dont you go to a shooting range and try both callibers? And the last question, why dont you try first a GLOCK? If you are wanting it for all the things that you said, isnt it the best choic by far? Sincerelly, Swagerman honoriomc@hotmail.com
  9. Dear reloader, "what a problem, isn`t it?" Well well well, lets start from the begining, THE BLUE MACHINE NEVER NEVER FAILS, ITS YOU, that happened to me once. I reload in a comercial way, and had in a time FIVE (5) 1050 blue perfect machines. What would you thing of a man that goes on vacation and in the side of the bed puts a RL1050 photo just not to miss her? Well, say what ever you want, but that is ME!! I disassemble and re assemble it with my eyes shut, and I have proof of it. I know it by heart, thats because Im in true and deep in love with it. So pleas dont tell things as you did about her. Its only bad regulated. Where? ok, ill tell you, just change the old springs to new ones, the one of the arm that pull the primer tray, and this arm too mus be in perfect harmony with the tray and just seem to touch the body of the machine when the primer tray is in the deep position. If you have any furthur question, well, call me when ever you want, if im not working, im talking to my BLUE GIRL FRIEND. Ill be glad to help you. Remember, the machine alone cant work at all. You must have some personal skill to make it work gentle, in a smooth way. sorry about my broken english, but I was born in the south part of South America. If you want to speak it in spanish it would be better for me. Best regards, Swagerman honoriomc@hotmail.com
  10. Dear Sir. If you want a full automatic reloading machine, you can choose severall. First, you can full convert your Dillon RL1050, by inserting on the left side a M-A system neumatic bullet feeder and on the bottom and right side an hydraulic tool that is manufactured in the States. The second option is CAMDEX, this company is in Troy, MI. They manufacture severall kind of machines, straigh ones and circular ones. The circular are more than 16 steps. Really incredible. There is also another firm called AMMO LOAD. Its very similar to Camdex. Dont know wich was first. As I write this, I remember also another one, RDP, the tool. Also manufactured and fully automatic converted in the States. You are wondering how do I know all this, well, by reading Handloaders Digest and all other similar publications since 15 or more years ago. Hope this is helpfully to you. Best regards, Swagerman honoriomc@hotmail.com
