Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Building a precision AR right now and I want to mount a Bushnell 6-24x50 Tactical that I already have on it with a 20 moa mount. This will be an optics-only build, so no need - and no desire - for QD. Anybody used Badger's 20 moa 1.4 height Unimount ((#306-97) on an AR15? Can I get the scope far enough forward with this mount? Pics don't look like the forward ring is extended very far. Pics are welcomed if you have such a setup. Thanks! Ended up getting an Aadland AADMOUNT instead.
  2. Thanks iswope and Iowashooter. Gonna change mine out tonight.
  3. That's awesome! When we shot the gateway shotgun match last summer I had my 31 rd Xrail. We shot 25 trap, 25 skeet and They wouldn't let me load it up to save time. We used to run a stage called "Combat Clays" on the 5-stand field at our local club back before 3-gun was all the rage. Always loved to see the looks from the over/under crowd. Priceless.
  4. Nice job on your 3000! Which Hi-Viz did you use? Do you recall which thread pitch works?
  5. I gave $181 out the door. It came with an IC choke in it.
  6. Here's another option for those who already have a 3000 but want a 24 inch barrel. I called Benelli/Stoeger and asked if they were gonna ever have extra barrels for the 3000 available. The rep said they are available now and gave me the part number. They only had a few in stock at the time. You have to place your order through a Benelli/Stoeger dealer as Benelli doesn't sell parts direct. Anyway, ordered mine through my local dealer and got it yesterday. Just another option. I called 301 283 6981 option 2 initially to ask about it. They can tell you about whether they are still in stock. The part number for the black 24 inch VR barrel is 33534.
  7. I am running a couple of these (the AR-Stoner version from Midway) and they have been flawless - even monopodding them and rocking them back and forth to try to initiate a stoppage. Mine hold 42 rounds easily. Also running a couple of PMAG/NC extension combos and they have been 100% but the metal 40's are obviously much more robust.
  8. I am probably gonna have the loading port opened up but that will be the extent of my mods (with the extension of course). Not sure if this is the same on all the 3000's, but I can ghost load mine. I have not had it modded for that feature.
  9. I have both and they are not interchangeable. Not even close.
  10. +1 on the Rainier's. I am running their 16 inch ultramatch and it is GTG. They do an 18 inch intermediate gas ultramatch that might work for you. Or look at their select match "medcon" 18 incher. Just have to get on their "notify me" list. The wait was not too long after i did that.
  11. Quick update. I went ahead and ordered a Nordic extension (Nova/Supernova version) for my 3000. Had to cut off the unthreaded part of the mag tube on the shotgun as some have already stated. Also had the same difficulty as d-striker with threading on the new nut/tube. It would turn on about 2 turns and that was it. I sanded lightly (it took several repetitions) on the threads on the mag tube and on the extension nut until I could turn it all the way down tight (it still takes pliers for the last half turn or so). I used my dremel to bevel the inside edge of the mag tube where I had cut off the unthreaded part. I beveled it pretty good. It runs 100% with the Nordic follower. 12 rounds if you ghost load it (I have a 28 inch barrel but a 26 would match up perfect to the +7 extension). I know 8+1 is the max for Tactical class but most times you can load more after the buzzer. BTW, it runs 2.75 dram 1 1/8th ounce loads too. This shotgun has been 100% reliable for me both before and after the new extension. It will be my backup/loaner gun. Just need to send it off and have the loading port opened up.
  12. Nice looking rifle. Looking forward to a range report. Mount up that PST in a JP one-piece and call it good.
  13. So you were able to screw it into place with the pliers after removing the unthreaded part of the tube? I have one of these shotguns and it has been totally reliable thus far. Wanted to run it in the local 3-gun matches but wasn't sure about an extension tube. BTW, I'm new to 3-gun. My Stoeger 3000 is the 28 incher. Any problem running it in 3-gun?
