Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Thanks guys. I've got a couple large sheets of cardboard and will try some 50 and 100 yard shots with the bead, we'll see what that tells me. J
  2. I'm picking up some slugs this weekend to pattern the new JM 930, I'm hoping it's off a little just so I have an excuse to beat it against a tree. Do I have to remove the barrel from the shotgun first?
  3. $379 would have been a great deal, sadly the LGS's in the great liberal NW kind of suck, I'd have been looking for months had I waited for one. I've heard similar reports that it's not for pocket carry unless maybe wearing cargo shorts this summer.
  4. Strikers breaking? Have a link to anything I can read on that?
  5. I'm not sure if Seekins Precision is offering their brake alone or only on their rifles. I shot Glen's new 3 gun AR a couple weekends ago and was very impressed by the brake (and the rest of the rifle too).
  6. Tomx, while not a great test, I ran 60 rounds through my new JM last night about as fast as I could and never got it to hiccup once. I wouldn't let that video sway you one way or the other.
  7. After reading the other thread here and several other places, I just had to have one. Already ordered a holster and can't wait as I love my other M&P's! FYI, lots of guys asking way too much for these pistols, gunbroker.com is full of price gougers. Found the best deal on gunbroker.com from backwoodsguns.com, he still has about 7 left as of now if anyone is looking. Real nice guy to talk with too. http://www.gunbroker.com/Semi-Auto-Pistols/BI.aspx?IncludeSellers=377080 Hope that helps a few that are looking for one. Jasonk
  8. Thanks, Braxton1. Any recommended distances to sight in at with slugs? 30 yards? 50?
  9. Thanks for the suggestions, I'll check them out in the morning. J
  10. So I'm kind of an impulsive guy, now own an M1 w/ fiber optic rifle sights on the rib and a JM 930 Mossy with the single FO bead up front. Owning both of these fine shotguns, I've never shot a true 3-gun match, just some little local ones. If I get into the sport more and shoot some "real" matches, what can I expect. Are the rifle sights needed for longer slug stages or will the JM 930 front bead be enough? Both shotguns run and point well, could run either in a match with confidence, just curious about the longer shots. Obviously the full rifle sights would give me a little more precision if needed. Thanks, Jasonk
  11. Finally got out with my JM 930 tonight, put about 60 rounds through it, all went off without a hitch...... decent Remington and Winchester ammo of course.
  12. Do these work well? Do you end up with much gravel and other oddities in there? Thanks.
  13. Did they happen to tell you why or how it broke? Is there an adjustment that should have been made? Have been considering getting one and want to know if this is common.
  14. Is everyone just buying their slugs local to them? Or is there an online ammo source that sells buck and slugs in cases that will be cheaper?
  15. I'm not sure that video needed to be 20 minutes long, but good to know what ammo not to buy I guess.
