  1. Thanks guys, Both solutions are good.
  2. Hi all, I am new to this forum. I have made three posts in the Beginner reloading forum. I get answers to my question, so I know that other users of the forum are able to see my posts and make replies. The problem is this: I am unable to find my own posts by looking at the latest posting list. The only way that I am able to see my posts is to remember the subjects and do a "search" for the subject matter. I have emailed moderators and they have never heard of this problem. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Do you know how to correct the problem? P.S. I have security software, but I turn off the firewall before entering the forum.
  3. I have an Uncle Mike's that I really like. They have them in at least a couple of different sizes. You can see them on Uncle Mikes web site.
  4. Can a 9mm (.356) lead bullet be used in a 38 Special (.357) case and fired in a 357/38 revolver?
  5. I am relatively new to re-loading. Winchester Brass, CCI 500 primers, 147 gr. Flat Nose Cast Lead Bullet What is the best optimum powder for loading with above listed componets? Where on the burn rate table should I start? Fast Burning or Slow? I want to shoot paper targets at 25 yards. I would like to keep the CUPS at a minimum while getting the bullet down range with the most accuracy and reliability.
  6. Hi people. I am new to the reloading art. I have loaded a few hundred rounds for my xd-9 with a compensated barrel. I use Win. brass, Titegroup powder and CCI-500 primers with a 115 gr FMJ bullet. I am a somewhat poor shot, but my groups were not even good using sandbag support on a bench. I recently purchased 147 gr cast lead bullets with a brinell hardness of 15. I used the same case, primer and powder, but lowered the amount of powder to 2.9 grs. I loaded a few rounds to test fire. The accuracy improved so I loaded up 100 rounds. The cases were ejected about 10 feet with the first 50 - 60 rounds. By the time I had shot the full 100 loads, the cases were only ejecting a couple of feet and one or two were hungup as the slide came forward. When I returned home and field stripped the gun for cleaning, lead had packed at the outside of the barrel toward the chamber end and had not been allowing the slide to fully retract, thus the problem with casing ejection toward the end of the 100 shots. Apparently the molten lead was flowing through the 10 compensation holes in the barrel and was being driven reward by the slide and packed around the barrel. The rifling and inside of the barrel did not seem to be leaded to any extent. Using a brass brush over a dark cloth did not show any signs of lead being removed from the barrel. I am assuming one can not shoot cast lead bullets from a compensated barrel. Does anyone here have experience with loading 147 gr FN lead bullets for 9 mm pistols? Is 15 Brinell too soft for 9mm. Will buying a 9mm barrel that is NOT compensated for my XD-9 solve my problem or do I just need to find the right bullet and load?
