Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I found mine broke last week. Had an unrelated trigger malfunction in a match so came home and tore everything down and discovered the broken pin. Mine is the newer style and has around 12-15 k on it. My pin was also broken in the same spot as above. I bought an extra to keep in my range bag.
  2. Plus then there is confusion on the clock about pickup and abandonment locations.
  3. A friend bought a 6.5 creed barrel for his AR platform and it is very very accurate.
  4. Doug- what size dot do you prefer and where do you like the 45 degree mount mounted?
  5. So I wanted to follow up. Even though the primers are a little high and fully seated they have all functioned properly.
  6. I have a bunch of once fired Lake City 5.56 with very shallow primer pockets. They measure on average .090 vs. spec of .117-.123. In 7 years of reloading and 10's of thousands of rounds I can't say that I have seen this and have always used Lake City for my match brass. Any ideas on what the root cause is? Machine gun brass? Built out of tolerance? Obviously it is resulting in high primers that are fully seated. I tested the offending cases and they seem to function but I'm very uncomfortable with it. Thoughts?
  7. After doing some research, here is what I have found.... 1. There was, in fact, a rule allowing Glock 34 & 35 pistols in the later years of the match. 2. Glock bbl length is listed as 5.31", XDM is listed as 5.25", M&P Pro is listed at 5". 3. My old Chinese 1911 built up for me by Kurt has a nominal 5-1/8" bbl from breech face to end of bbl. .....so we will allow all manner of FACTORY LENGTH BARREL guns up to and including the G34 / G35 Glocks. The call will be if you've got an extended, threaded, aftermarket or factory barrel that exceeds these nominal lengths (that's what we call a clue), the tape measure will come out, and we're going to tell you to put the short factory barrel back in it, or you can't use it. To paraphrase Jim Brown in Ice Station Zebra: "There will be an equipment inspection at every stage; and, gentlemen, it will be a bitch....." Fair enough?? (I'm just kidding, we're really not asking you.....) ericm Hell, I have a 6" sight tracker that came out of a factory. What's 3/4" among friends? Ok, now where did I put my fire suit? Even if Eric said yes I'm not dragging my SVI through the stages Zak and crew will be dreaming up!
  8. Eric, Kurt, Zac, I know I will be flogged for asking but it's better than buying another gun I don't shoot. I have an xdm .45 with a 5.25" barrel? Yes or no?
  9. I wish there was a "like button" as on bookface for this thread. ⚔☠
  10. I have successfully used Varget, 8208, and TAC for both.
  11. I found two manufactures. LaRue and ADM. I don't know on the weight. Used the ADM all season with no issues.
  12. I've been using their products for a couple years and couldn't be happier.
