Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Even on the first shot? Usually it's the follow ups that get thrown off. But it sounds like you're doing the appropriate actions to correct it. Also, try double plugging to reduce flinch if you haven't.
  2. If it was a high primer, on the first attempt the strike seated the primer. So on the next stage when you used the same round, it was good to go - and it did. Conjecture, of course, but it's a possibility.
  3. Probably gonna affect balance with your striker spring but have you tried an even lighter recoil spring - 8-10#?
  4. Setback? FTE, top round in mag tries to chamber, slams into FTE'd case, causing setback. Mag out, setback round still on top, clear unextracted case, re-seat mag, chamber f'd round... ?
  5. I looked on Midway and Brownells, but no-go.
  6. New, good stuff! http://store.magpul.com/product/MAG233 MUST. GET....
  7. My contribution is that in Open, I can mount and dismount my bipod depending on my need for it. Don't know if the vfg can be treated the same in Tac-Optics or Limited. As previously mentioned, it would depend on the rules of the match.
  8. There's also a steel challenge match at the Hernando Sportsman's Club (about 1hr+ north of Tampa) on the 1st Saturday of the month. Lots of matches going on in the Tampa Bay area. http://hernandosportsmansclub.com/steel.htm
  9. Works great in my 1100 and Saiga. Hard to find on the shelves here in town or online. Joey
  10. Palmetto State Armory has stripped polymer lowers for $69 right now. http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/firearms/receivers/ati-omni-stripped-lower-receiver.html
  11. If rapid fire is allowed, Bill Drills or variations of - 5-6 or more quickly aimed shots at 7-15 yards that need to go into the A-zone to count. If not, Dot Drills or variations as well. On an 8.5x11 sheet, print out quarter sized circles, place at 3-5 yards. I use these 2 when I go to the range. Hope this helps.
  12. From Lanny Bassham (paraphrased, with my own input added): The mind can only focus on one thing at a time. In (USPSA/IPSC) shooting, it should be "shoot all A's". The rest is just to distract you from that goal. The same is true for any endeavor and life in general. Whether it be your job, career, family, relationships, etc - determine what is essential and focus on it.
  13. Goosebumps. Inspiring, thanks for sharing!
  14. Atlanta Arms here too before I started reloading. 180gr, 1.18OAL. In a pinch, Federal and UMC 180gr from Wal-mart worked fine too.
