Looks for Match

Looks for Match (2/11)

  1. So, I don't get it...are you a GM in a division other than single-stack?
  2. Are you talking about the 10fp? Or is there something else? I also just noticed that Remington 700 5R Milspecs are available. Any reason to spend $500 more for that than a 700 SPS Varmint at this stage? Thanks.
  3. I have a 1200 yard range near me that has various matches and leagues. I only have a 22 and am thinking it might be fun to try out some long range rifle. What's a good rifle and scope that will do fine for me for a while until I get better and decide if I want to invest more $$$ ? I am thinking under $2000 for rifle and scope. If the answer is Rem 700 - please tell me which one, there appear to be about 15 on the market right now, though none is the P or PSS I have read about. THX

    Airsoft Targets

http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=73666 what kind of targets do u print out and where can i get them
  5. You might want to contact this guy: http://www.berettaforum.net/vb/showthread....;highlight=open
  6. Can one buy .38 spl major loads commercially? Atlanta Arms or another house? Or must one reload these? John
  7. If I wanted to try revolver, is there any way to credibly use a .38 platform (686 4")? Am I shooting minor with the .38 spl round? How about .357? I know 625's are the norm. Is the .38/.357 just not a suitable option?
  8. Thanks for all the replies. I think it sounds like I can save some $$$ down the road. But i am also swayed by the comments that it is rewarding. I will say that i got in Youtube and watched some clips of people using a MEC 600 and others using a 9000G. After seeing those, I'll be buying a 9000G.
  9. Super cool everyone. Thanks for all the replies. I don't think I have ICORE near me here in Madison, WI. But there's plenty of USPSA and IDPA. I look forward to trying my hand at this. John
  10. See, but as a newbie, I have no idea what components I would use or what they might cost. That why I am asking you experts!
  11. I am new to trap and clays, but i can tell i'll be doing it for a while. I can buy Remington Gun Club shells at Dick's on sale for 5 dollars per box. I can get Nitro shells for 8 bucks or so. How much $$$ am i going to save if I get a MEC single-stage press and reload all my shells. I am figuring on going through maybe 300-400 shells a week. BTW, if I can afford a MEC 9000 i would get one, I suppose. But the extra 350 dollars is a lot. John
  12. I found a LNIB 625-3 5" - I should be getting it in a week or so. I also have a line on a 4" 686 that I may pick up for IDPA. John Welcome to REVOLVER. This is the MOST SUPPORTIVE group within USPSA. There are also an inordinately high ratio of characters (as you probably know by reading the forums) but they will take in almost anybody (assuming that you can safely handle a gun) and help you excel in shooting that round gun. Revolver in a USPSA is more of a thinking game than any other division, where learning to read the stage (in 6 vs 8 round segments) and efficiently executing the plan is crucial. You cannot simply engage an array with 8 round, run as fast as you can to the next position while jamming a fresh mag in the gun to engage the next 8. You have to disect the course and decide whether you can engage that extra target or steel from a different position to avoid a standing reload. Some complain that it's too hard and revert back to their bottom feeder roots. But for those willing to (or crazy enough -- the Character thing again) to stick with it, find it rewarding and fun to out-run/outscore and amaze their fellow shooters using more modern firearms. So what Revo did you get? Signed a Lowly C class Lefty Revo shooter
  13. This is a serious question. I have read posts in which wheelgun shooters imply that revolver shooters are a different breed. Having just picked up my first revolver, I wonder what I'm getting into. How would you characterize the revolver-shooting community in the practical shooting sports, and how does is differ from the bottom-feeder USPSA/IDPA types?
  14. Auctionarms has the same model gun right now at $500 --- 250 less than the one on Gunamerica.
