I have used these primers without issue for several years in my 2011

Loaded up 140gr bullets last night and ran them over the chrono this morning. No changes made to my reloading equipment between these and the 155's. The PF of the 140's was ~5% lower than the 155's. Gun still cycled fine with the full power recoil spring I use for my major PF (normally 180PF) loads.

Just ran some Brazos 155s across the chrono. ~155-159 PF using 4.4gr of Prima V (similar to N320) loaded to 1.18 OAL. Using the same powder drop and die setting this nets 179-181 PF with 180gr bullets. I don't mind the added cushion for major PF and have been running this setup for more than a few years. Since I don't want to change my powder drop settings. I'm going to try a 140gr bullet (Bayou) first. If that doesn't work, I'll look for a different powder.

I have both STI and LSI grips. If your frame is within spec, either STI or LSI grips should drop in with minimal fitting. On the other hand, if your frame is out of spec of close to it, the LSI custom machined grip (using your measurements, I think only 2 are needed) is super convenient.

Here's some examples of what I tried during load development for my CZ. As always, work up loads yourself, don't just blindly use what some yo-yo on the internet says will work. Why don't you seat the bullet a little deeper? My 9mm CZs require OAL to be in the 1.08 to 1.09 range for most bullet profiles.

I've got a TG serial numbered frame. Nothing special about it, as far as I can tell.

OP- I had a similar dilemma a few years back; TSO 40 or 2011 for limited. I went with steel grip 2011. I shoot the TSO every now and again for nostalgia sake, but shoot the 2011s better under the clock …..and I no longer have to load my ammo short. If you go the 2011 route, I’d suggest starting with one that is 100% compatible with standard 1911/2011 parts. For example, Bul uses a non-standard grip and mags. Honchos have a proprietary barrel and locking block. Not saying these are bad guns (I have a Honcho) just be aware they aren’t 100% interchangeable

Thanks for sharing your findings OP. If I decide to get a safe with an electronic lock, I'll keep these details in mind. For now I'm sticking with mechanical S&G locking mechanisms. If you have more than 1 safe, there's a small key/tool that you can buy that allows the combination to be reset, thus allowing all safes to have the same combination if desired.

If there's a silver lining to this cloud, once the coating is accepted by PT it's very nice. The two honchos I have were delayed because of 'coating issues' however both were delivered in great condition. I've put over 10K rounds through my first one and the finish is still as nice as the day it was delivered 3 or so years ago.

If the die is hitting the bullet enough to scuff it, I'm thinking the die is set too deep. The crimp die should be set to remove the bell and no more. I.e. it shouldn't be swaging the bullet or touching it for that matter, as the bullet is a smaller diameter than the de-belled case by close to 0.5mm

I have shot limited for the past 5 years or so. During that time I've reloaded 180gr bullets from BBI, Bayou, Gallant and Brazos Precision. While some shipments may have had some minor issues, overall they were all good and pretty much equal (in my gun) performance wise. Generally speaking they are within 1-2 cents per round of each other, depending on order quantity and what deals are going on at the time. As an example, BBI's current special allows for 10-15% off depending on quantity ordered. Using the lowest tier (10%) which requires 3600 projectiles, you get an approximate delivered cost of $0.0925/projectile.

My 9mm and .40 TSO both send brass into the next zip code. This is with reduced power springs also. I believe the .40 has a 12or 13# and the 9mm an 11#

OP- If you're loading .40 for a CZ, you're going to need to load shorter than 1.16. I load .40 for TSOs and 2011s. The 2011s can take 1.16 (perhaps a bit more) but my CZs cannot. I've used N320 a bit also for .40 and 180gr bullets. Between 4.3 and 4.5 is what I use. Both will make major, just depends on how much cushion you want.

I load 1.15-1.16 using 180g bullets in my 2011s. I can go a bit longer but don't see the need. And yes, your numbers are in line with what I load for TSO in .40.

OP- If you haven't done so already, I'd suggest shooting both the 2011 and CZ platform guns to see if you have a preference with the ergos. CZ design pistols (TS, TSO, Tanfo, etc.) use a hinge trigger, which feels very different than the triggers in 1911/2011 pistols. Aside from trigger feel/design, design features like bore axis (CZs tend to have lower BA) and grip angle are important to many folks. I have both platforms and competed with both in USPSA limited division. As a B-class shooter, neither offers a significant advantage over another. The major difference for me (as a reloader) is that CZs require shorter OAL cartridges (when using the same bullet/ogive) than my 2011s guns.

Nice upgrade! So you're using the extra station for bullet feeder, if I understand correctly. Any issues/concerns with this setup?

A quick way to eliminate variables is to move the follower(s) that work to mags that don’t. If changing the follower fixes the issue, then focus on tweaking the 4 followers that are misbehaving or get different ones.

OP, Lots of people have loaded MG bullets on the ol'650 using Dillon dies, including me. While other dies, modification of seating stem, etc. may improve your reloading experience, these aren't 100% necessary.
