Looks for Match

Looks for Match (2/11)

  1. Back in the day (30-40 yrs ago) the python was a beautiful and expensive gun that needed work not unliked every s&w (back then or today) - tho what i understood the python needed a bit more finesse than a s&w - so to make it right you (may choose to) get it tuned by someone like Jerry Moran who could do that work extremely well. I dont doubt todays version would be the same.
  2. Apex did a ‘full build’ on my 627 when i bought it. I was very happy with their work. Pinnacle went completely through the gun about 2yrs later. Mark improved fit and function throughout. Very impressive. Most recently BC Armory replaced the stock barrel with a shroud/Shilen match grade bbl. For no other reason than i just wanted something different. Bruce did a great job. Looks good and very accurate. But FWIW if I had to pick one it would be Pinnacle.
  3. Thanks all. Great to hear. Gonna get one coming! Corey
  4. Obviously this is a budget PCC but is it a worthy starting point to improve on as I can afford?
  5. +1 for Mark at Pinnacle he did a great job improving my Apex 627
  6. +1 BBC Top Gear. Amazon bought the 3 guys so soon to be back on
  7. I just recd my Nill 'hemphill' full stipple XL grip. About 5wk wait shipped from Germany. Great grip but XL is not very big. I shoulda ordered at least an XXL...
  8. Looks like the four pounders lasted all of seven minutes but they still have one pound bottles. In the past I've noticed that powders that sell out quickly become available sporadically for a day or two after it initially sells out. I guess Powder Valley keeps some in reserve to keep from "over-booking" the initial rush. I had 8 pounds of it today right up to the point when they called me and said they sold more than they had...
  9. I ran the DAA for two seasons but just switched to CR. CR feels more consistent in the draw and a simpler design. And I just switched to NM from the speed-e-rack as the magnets don't hold the thin stainless moons too well - they fall off with aggressive movement. I also prefer the more centered location of the NM on the belt. Good luck. Have fun. +1 BMT
  10. At OH champs last wknd I talked with 3 that had a 627/929 in process or on order. None had shot revo before.
  11. "The biggest problem I saw guys having with the door was their feet. I couldn't count how many times I saw the shooters feet stop the door from opening all the way. But it was enough to activate the targets." Or stop the door with their left knee... I got the 'black&blue' to prove it! Ugh. But I too have to say that this was one heck of a match - stage designers and management ya done real good!
