Dave,
I'm 52 years old and have had terrible vision (nearsighted) since age 10. After age 40 the farsightedness kicked in. I wear trifocals for daily use.
This is what has worked best for me:
Monovision shooting glasses. I am right handed/right eye dominant. My right lens is focused on my front sight, left lens is focused at infinity. I use Rudy's with prescription inserts, but there are a lot of choices out there.
Rear Sight: Dawson Precision adjustable. Plain black. The Fiber Optic rear sights are very distracting (to me).
Front Sight: Dawson Precision Fiber Optic. .300 tall, .100 wide. I switch back and forth between green and red fiber inserts.
I have found that a wide rear notch and a narrow front sight work best for me and coming from a Bullseye background I like adjustable rear sights.
If you do go with the Warren/Sevigny competition sights, be sure to get the .245 tall front sight for your G34. The .215 is really for the G17.
Hope this helps.
