Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Thanks for the response. Glad to know I can use them and not hurt anything. Much appreciated.
  2. I bought some Wolff springs for my CZ magazines. Like a fool I didn't read the fine print and apparently the 10% is actually 15% in CZ magazines. Should I just shelf these? Would it be alright to use these 15% springs in my longer magazines like the 18 and 19 rounders? Meanwhile get actual 10% springs for my 16 round magazines?
  3. That's just it though, I totally buy into the design. I want one, I want to give them my money. This would be a big purchase for me though and I can't afford to pick something that might crap out randomly for the rest of it's life.
  4. I'm looking for a 12 gauge and I have to admit the stuff I'm reading about the VM is really putting me off of them. Who wants to pay real money for these guns only to have to deal with CS and multiple trips back to the factory just to have a gun that works right? The killer is I really would be all about buying a VM if it wasn't for the poor quality control. I want one, but I'm too put off by bent barrels, soft hammers and mid beads that are drilled off cener.
  5. I've seen a couple used in the 400-500 dollar range. Most with 28" bbl set up as duck guns. How difficult would it be to set one of these guns up for 3 gun? Projected cost of doing so? Is the gun itself even worth doing this to?
  6. Yeah I'm starting out and have this same problem. I walk it, I plan it, I double check the plan. Buzzer goes off and suddenly I'm somewhere on the course and just slamming away at the trigger. Doing all sorts of stuff that makes no sense. Its really disconcerting too. If I can't keep my head to do something I just planned that carries no weight in the real world... I don't wanna know if it really meant anything. You're not alone out there.

    CZ SP-01 What now?

Here she is all gussied up. I'm proud of it, I've learned a ton. Shoots great and looks cool. Thanks again everyone.
  8. From my prospective, shoot a gun that makes you happy. I could have bought a gun that was easier to modify, or was cheaper or had easier to obtain accessories, heck all of the above even. I picked the gun that I wanted to shoot though. Shoot the gun that you enjoy shooting. If you have all the gear and you like shooting your Colt, then shoot it everything else will work itself out.
  9. Just thanking everyone who has posted in this thread. It is full of excellent information. I really like that people keep coming back and adding something new each time they think of something, or see something else. Thanks for the effort I know I'm taking what I read here to heart.

    CZ SP-01 What now?

Hey I just wanted to thank everyone (especially eerw) for helping me out. My SP-01 is all put together after a lot of help from a good friend. It shoots wonderfully, it feels really nice with the new grips. I'm very proud of it. Once I get some pictures taken I'll post them up.

    CZ SP-01 What now?

Ok so I have the springs in, changed the sights, changed the safeties, changed the hammer. All thanks to a very patient friend. The improvements have been fantastic. I'm going to order the grips this week, what else would be nice to have?

    CZ SP-01 What now?

I have a SP-01 with a safety and night sights. I want to shoot production with it. I'd like to put some work into the gun, but I think the cost of having it sent out and completely worked over is prohibitive at this point. I have a friend who is very experienced in shooting limited and working on his own guns that is willing to help me with the work. This leaves me to determine what parts I need to get. I've basically just been using www.ghostholster.com to look for parts. So far I'd like a new set of sights (but I don't know which ones) and the CZ competition hammer. I don't know where to go from there. I'm shooting factory ammo and I want to stay production legal. What changes should I be making? Thanks in advance for your help. P.S. I have some mec-gar 16 round mags, are these legal to use for production?
  13. I totally understand what you guys are saying, that's why I started this project for sure. Does anyone have any specific parts or kits I should try? Right now I'm looking at a Del-ton 20in kit. Price range seems right, I get a little bit of selection with some stuff and have room to grow. It seems like they have a pretty solid reputation all around. What kind of options would I want out of what they have listed? Keeping in mind improvements to come. http://www.del-ton.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=RKT102
