Out of an sti Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I use 231 in my .40. 4.5grains under a 180gr bullet at 1.200" gets me about 169pf out of my Edge. DougM
Mhall, I've got to say I'm surprised you got that PF from 4.5 gn of W231. I'm shooting 180 gn RNFP out of a 5" Tanfoglio Witness Match and I need 5.0 gn of HP-38 (same as W-231) to get a PF of 164. And I've loaded them short at 1.130". I've seen posts from others on this forum who've shot Berry's plated RNFPs using 5.1 gn to get a PF of 165 - also loaded short at 1.135". But I don't recall what barrel they used so it might not be comparable. Do you have other W-231 loads that you have chrono results for so I can compare to my results? I'm always looking for other input to validate (or invalidate) my speeds. Thanks.
TDA
I needed 5.1 to get to 165pf with a bare lead 180 at 1.150" using a 4.4" barrel.
