In our 9mm 1911s the bullet doesn''t move far enough for a round to chamber thank goodness. Ask me how I know. perttime Posted July 20, 2016 Share Posted July 20, 2016 I've fired a few out of the box 380 rounds through a 9mm pistol to see what would happen. I hit the paper but cannot remember if it cycled the action. The 380 case is straight while the 9mm is tapered. I think the extractor needs to be in the groove to ensure it fires. arkadi Posted July 22, 2016 Share Posted July 22, 2016 If .380 slips past bullet feeder on 1050 to seating station - I honour it, placing bullet manually, then seat, crimp, and shoot. It extracts and cycles the gun with ~3gn of VV N320 under 150gr bullet. The case expands non-uniformly - on the left on the picture below.
