What's The Best Rifle Sight?

There is no sight or scope that is best for all the varied conditions and target engagements the rifle (or carbine) may encounter. Rifles are used at ranges from 1 to 1,000 yards, in daylight, low light, and darkness, at golf balls, clay pigeons, steel plates, paper bulleyes, and cardboard silhouettes. Dots and irons are fast and easy up close. Magnification is more accurate and faster out far. Too much magnifcation slows you down. Following are some discussions which may help you choose your compromise sight.

ACOGs at close range

Holosight as a main sight

Carry handle-mounted Holosight

Handguard-mounted Holosight

Leupold CQ/T

Microdot Optic

Sheperd scopes

3 gun rifle sight system

Magnifying Optics for 3 gun

What scopes are you running???,

Observations on sights from the Mystery Moutain 3 gun

Illuminated Reticle Scopes

Iron sights for Tactical Class AR-15

Iron sights for flat top AR
