I have used 10.1gr with MG. Hybrid 4 popple holes mid length Akai. I prefer 3N38. PF = 170

Thank you sir.  Anybody greater than 10.1 with HS6 and 115 ?

Has anybody used a load greater than  9.2 with HS6 and 115 JHP  as their major load with 38SC?

I've loaded 9.2 of HS-6 with my 9mm and a 115 PD.

Granted it was 179pf but I shot quite a bit of it with no issues. Sorry for such a late comment, the post just got refreshed by this guy bumping his count. ?

I use 9.8 grains with a 115 PD JHP in my infinity with 2 holes.  It shoots about a 176pf but I found it to feel the fattest during my load development.

I have 4lbs of 3N38 to try with 124 grain bullets when I have used up all the HS6

Damn popper holes affect it that much? I do 9.5 with 115 MG at 1.260 OAL and I’m averaging 175pf.

Barrels vary in velocity, we're told.  Also popple holes subtract about 1% in velocity per hole, so that's perhaps 0.5 gr powder in a 4-hole barrel, compared to no holes.

Now that I have actually Chronod my loads I can give you some better data.

I run a CK arms with a cheeley comp and 3 barrel holes.

When it was a 9mm as I stated before I shot 9.2grs of hs-6 with a 115 PD and it was 179pf.

This weekend I checked 9.2, 9.4, & 9.6 now that the gun is 38SC.

They all made major but the 9.6 was right around 176pf which is where I wanted to be.  So that is what I'll be running for a while.

Have you every shot PD 124s before. Just wanted to know how close you would be to me, 124jhp 8.8gr HS6  172pf. As I have CK with 3 holes in 38sc. I have never tried the PD 115s.

Not with hs-6 in 38SC.  When I had a CZ Czechmate though and intially went from 124s to 115s I noticed that it seemed to normally being roughly 1 grain difference in powder charge with whatever the powder was.

So I would say I'd probably be close to that if I was shooting 124s right now.

I used to do 9.1gr of HS6 on a Winchester SRP with RMR 115 fmj in a 9x19 casing @ 1.170" and gave me 171pf. I went down to 9.0 and kept the rest. Did 169pf at area 8 a few weeks ago. A friend of mine said he did 10.0HS6 on a 115 in a 9mm and said it felt very violent. He has 2 popple holes and I forget what setup..

Wow, 10grs sounds pretty dangerous.

Especially considering I know what was 179pf in my 9mm and what is 176 in my 38SC isn't even that high.
