Smitty79
I've been using a U-Die on my 550 for 2 years. I just picked up a second hand 650 and bought a new U-Die for it. No matter how hard I torque the gland nut, the pin slips and doesn't remove primers consistently. Anyone have a suggestion on what to try to fix this? Edge40
Thats strange. Maybe try taking the pin out and cleaning the die and pin with a degreaser. Could be some machining oil left on it. Never heard of that problem.
Expflier
Mine did that until i cleaned all the oil off then held backup on the die and used a box end wrench on the gland nut.
Steve RA
Same solution as Expflier on my Lee Depriming die - same basic die as the U-Die.
cvincent
Yeah you gotta torque the shit out of it. I stick the wrench in a vice, the die in the wrench then torque the nut. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Steve RA
One point of caution, just tighten it enough to allow depriming, don't get it so tight that it won't slip if you hit a Berdan primed case or one with a smaller case inside. Takes a little trial and error, but, it will eventually work very well.
Service Desk
Degrease the whole thing with aerosol brake cleaner then give the de-capper a few twists with some 80 grit sandpaper where the gland nut contacts the de-capper. Tighten as required...
