New spinta stainless barrel 79.99

Recommended Posts

Hello: My barrel came today. It will not fully chamber my 147 Acme loads that are 1.145" OAL in length. My 1.170" Montana Gold 115 JHP loads would not chamber either. Looks like I will have to throat it so it will work for my loads. The barrel is threaded for standard 223 comps which opens up more options if you bore the comp out. Thanks, Eric

Mine came in too.

Checked max length on the bullets I have on hand.

    124 gr MG JHP = 1.067"

115 gr Blue Bullets RN Coated = 1.090"

    147 gr Xtreme RN Plated = 1.140"

    160 gr Ibejihead RN Coated = 1.136"

Much better than my current PSA barrels but a bit disappointed with the 124 gr MG JHP.  Really would like to load them out to 1.150" or so  (that length gives best accuracy in my open guns).

At least these are stainless steel and can be reamed.

I have a few custom carbide chamber reamers now available for sale if anyone needs to add chamber depth to any barrel type. I was using a high speed steel Clymer throater, but HS steel cutters are good for about one non-stainless barrel. Send a message if interested.

Can you please quote the dimensions of that reamer?

It's has a 2.5 degree throat angle, and is a heavy duty carbide version of the Clymer T35P .35 cal Throater. I had the shank diameter also increased so your lathe (or tap handle) can have a larger surface area to grip.
