itzjere
Got a new thumbrest, and the screws are too long when screwed into my dust cover (as expected). I've measured the length with calipers, so I know how much I need to take down, but what is the best way of doing that without damaging the threads (too much). I've seen some youtube videos of people taking down bolts and re-threading the damaged threads with nuts, but I don't have same thread pattern nuts (although I can go to my hardware store to do so if that is the best solution). Wonder if anyone on here has suggestions on how to do this?
Glk21C
Yes, go to the hardware store and get some matching nuts..?
echotango
I grind them and then hit them on a belt sander. Threads are then clean. Edited June 2, 2017 by echotango
