Hello from Fredericksburg VA.

I've been lurking on the forum for a while now but didn't sign up for an account until recently. I'm a newer competition shooter (second season) with pistol, before that and I guess still, I really was into the long range shooting game due to access to Quantico through the shooting club. If anyone ever wants to join please let me know, I love bringing people out and getting them shooting 1k. The approximate 2 second delay to target is an experience. Back to competition pistol, I got started in steel challenge and quickly added USPSA matches to the schedule. Right now I'm shooting a G34 and have managed to move up to B in steel challenge but I keep messing up qualifiers in USPSA, but I'd still be about a C shooter. I've been thinking about going open because I just love the technical and mechanical aspect of open guns, everything about them is just so intriguing from comps to feeding and load development. I have no plans to make money shooting but I just want to enjoy the sport and make a lot of noise doing it. All of this may get a bit harder as we have a one year old (as of Saturday) and plan on adding more. I really hope to contribute enough to post a WTB but mods I read the rules and will not try to run my post count up! Although... I think I already messed up posting in classifieds (let me know if a deal falls through type post) so mods, I'm sorry. Nice to get on a forum like this lots of good info. If anyone ever wants to meet up at a Northern VA area match or around the Fredericksburg/Quantico Area let me know.

Yes sir! Rocking a Hornady LNL AP, and beating my head in finding out how to make one of these DIY case feeders. I've been running the LNL for about a year, prob around 4k loaded (I need to start a log) of 9mm. Before that I was running single stage for a few years so I'm pretty familiar with a press. I actually casted my first batch of 9mm 125s the other day and plan on going the powder coating route for at least production. My buddy is running them in major with no issue but we'll see. I can't wait for the boy to be old enough to sort brass and if I dont have a case feeder by then he can do that too.

Saw the match down in VA, its actually my sons first birthday but I was inveted to go with a recent turned GM. The guy is crazy good and I'm hoping to learn a lot from him. I just don't have a lot of time or places to practice, so I think getting to A class and pushing for M is my main goal for now. May take a few years but I have a few years to get there! In the meantime I really want to pick up a Trubor, the whole gas/comp/loading above limits is awesome.

Welcome from Kentucky!  Enjoy the ride!  Finally someone else that doesn't have a Dillon too.  LOL!  I have the LnL AP as well and just started into reloading. I haven't heard about the homemade case feeder.  I'll have to check out that vid. But since I'm just starting out, I'd rather do it all by hand to ensure I'm doing it right. Paranoia and all. LOL!

I wish i was closer because the long range sounds like a blast!

Welcome to the board, I might have to take you up on a trip to the 1000yd sometime I have a 300 win mag thats never been past 200yds

And that diy case feeder is pretty impressive, I was actually looking at going with a Dillon 650 so I don't have to figure out the case to shell plate feed, but planning on a DIY case collator and bullet collator, for the bullet collator I found a 3d printed model to try out, if the case feed on the LnL seems to be too much to DIY maybe adding just the bullet feed might be a good route, one less step when pulling the handle.
