af220wa
What is the best sight in distance for carry optics? I've found that about 15 - 17 yards is good for most but then you get the occasional upper scoring area only targets that are farther away and all seems off. I don't have enough time on the gun to really know it well so is it better to sight in at long distance and know that closer up it will be high or just take an average with mid yardage alignment. Jimboslice
For Open I use a 15yd zero so I'd imagine there wouldn't be anything different with CO. I think it's good because it's right in the middle of just about any distance you will encounter.
Hi-Power Jack
Pick a distance, and you'll be correct .... Just know where bullets land from 5 - 50 yards, and you'll be all set
rowdyb
poa/poi for the longest shot in the local match you shoot most often. how deep is your biggest bay? i zero at 25 yards. then i set a new target up and shoot 5 rounds at it in one go from 5,10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40 and 50 yards. I look at the distribution of shots from the same point of aim throughout it all and just file that away. done.
