Les Snyder
shot my SBR'd PCC today... broke the bolt catch.... had only been used with the blow back upper less than 200 rounds...you might get a spare ahead of time ... regards Link to comment
Aircooled6racer
Hello: If you limit the amount that the bolt/buffer move back to only give about 1/4" distance between the bolt and catch it should live longer. I rarely go to bolt locking back so maybe I am just lucky and have not broken one yet. Thanks, Eric Link to comment
Les Snyder
Eric... thank you ... I understand limiting the amount of bolt over travel... this was just a proof of concept for an AR pistol that I was planning...my game gun is an NFA that does not lock back and is limited in over travel... the SBR was being used as a temporary test bed for a 10.5" upper as USPSA does not allow AR pistols to be shot in PCC division... to my recollection, the SBR had only locked back on one previous occasion, and has shot less than 200 rounds with the 9mm upper on it... just passing on my mistake to help others be aware of the problem.... regards Link to comment
Dannybot
Any chance you can post up a picture of how it broke? Link to comment
VforVandetta
I just never installed a bolt catch to begin with lol Link to comment
Les Snyder
Danny... it broke out the bottom of the roll pin hole...the plunger and spring must have ejected during the stage as it held open two times on its own Link to comment
