I'm thinking about getting a Tanfoglio Elite Match 40 SW to shoot limited. Can anyone that shoots one share your experience with this gun. Thanks

I use to shoot one.  I really liked it.  It ran perfect and parts where not that bad to get.  Trigger needs some work otherwise you will have a lot of take up and a long reset.  All that being said 2011 are super cheap and readily available on the forum.  If a Tanfo goes down at a match there is not going to be anyone there with a spare or parts unlike a 2011 which almost half the field will have.

I've been running one for 2 seasons now in ltd. and have been very happy with it. Out of the box the trigger is good , mine was around 3 1/2# to 3 3/4#, reset was acceptable.

It ran fine on std. length or long loads (over 1.180" oal.)

With a polish job and spring change trigger was under 3#. With some after market parts trigger is just over 2 1/4#, and reset is much better.

I shot it box stock the 1st season only adding extended base pads to get 20 + 1 of 40 cal and found it very reliable.

I have considered moving too a 2011, but for the price I have 2 of these for the same as a tuned / reliable 2011, plus I like having something different than everyone else.

For more info check out the Tanfoglio page in the forums.

Hope that helps.

Sorry I just realize I miss read original post.

My response was on the Limited elite not the Match.

I also owned/ shot a Elite Match before selling it for the Limited. It was also a good and reliable gun for the money but for the difference in price and if your main objective is to shoot limited class get the Limited.

First off the Limited is on a complete different frame. It has stippling on front & back strap, square trigger guard, heavy cone barrel that's 1/2' longer, better rear sight, mag well etc.

And it has more parts available.

You can't upgrade for the difference in starting price.

Either gun will work, but I'm much happier with the Limited
