550b Shell Plate Bolt question

Is the index sprocket supposed to be able to be removed from the shell plate bolt. I cannot seem to slide the sprocket off the shell plate bolt on my 550B

Unless they changed it since my press, it does come off.

If you don't lightly grease the inside of the index sprocket where the head of the dhellplate bolt contacts it, then the index sprocket and bolt can gall. Easy to disassemble, just invert the parts on top of a socket, and tap the bottom of the bolt with a plastic hammer to separate them.
