Holster for SVI Open Gun

Recommended Posts

Looking through the post couldn't find one that fits what I'm looking for. Hoping to get some ideas on a good holster for an SVI open gun. I currently shoot limited and have a ghost holster however, all open shooters I've seen have the holsters with the bottom that the end of the muzzle sits on. Is this personal preference or something that is needed. Thanks

Just makes holster more customizable (that a word?) ...

Every OPEN gun is slightly different length, depending on the comp

you attach - so an adjustable holster is perfect.

Not necessary, but lots of adjustments can be made to these holsters :)

Thanks, looks like the safariland is a favorite for a lot of folks.

I don't like holsters with the muzzle support. I'm a big fan of the Race Master. Sometimes the insert needs a little customizing to your gun but I've found that route works much better than the universal stuff for me.

i use the daa racemaster magnetic but even though i bought the SV steel insert (for my steel grip) it didnt fit right and needed to be modified.

what did you have to do for that?  I'm having the same issue with my Infinity.  I doesn't fit with the steel grip.

I took it apart and found out where the trigger guard was getting held up and filed down the material until it fit snug. Then assemble and see if it works and draws well. Take a little material at a time you don't want it too loose.

I will try that and see.   Thanks

I'm taking possession tomorrow of a new gun with an SV steel signature grip and I have a new DAA block for it. What did you have to modify?

Thanks,

Jeff

sorry i thought i responded sooner to this. i took out the block and had to file off the round part of the block to fit the trigger profile. take a little material off at a time until it fits snug.
