Broncman
Do you run jacketed or coated? I run Blue Bullets in my pistol but they are leading in my Scorpion carbine. Trying to keep velocity in the 1100 range. Link to comment
Nathanb
I run blues in my mpx with zero issues Link to comment
Nathanb
But I'll add mine are subsonic 147s. I never push them super Link to comment
JMike
I know people running them in open guns with no leading issues and these are traveling at around 1400 fps. Are you sure your not shaving off the coating when you are seating the bullet? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Link to comment
Broncman
But does the few inches of of an Open gun buy you some insurance vs the 16" of barrel the bullet travels I'm a carbine? The Blues do work flawlessly in my pistol and I have pulled them to check crimp line. They are good. Link to comment
Aircooled6racer
Hello: All I am using are the Acme 147 grain bullets in my PCC's. Three different barrels JP, Wilson Arms and a KAW Valley. No leading or residue in any of the barrels. The Wilson Arms barrel looks super clean after I cleaned it today after 500 rounds. My comp does get some buildup but the barrel stays clean. Could you be over crimping them? Mine are only going 920fps with Tite Group powder. Thanks, Eric Link to comment
Broncman
Hmm, you bring up a point. Not really looked at the barrel, but seeing the buildup on the comp. Need to go check. Most of these loads are at 1200. Link to comment
NinerRider
Run 105, 124, 147 Bayou Bullets with no issues at all. Link to comment
gatortommy
I run uncoated lead. Old school, LOL. Right now I'm running a 124 grain bullet at 132 pf and get no leading. Link to comment
Nugget
I'm running bbi 147 grain with n320 at 132 power factor. Comp gets leaded up pretty bad but barrel is just dirty. 16" barrel carbine. Link to comment
blaster113
BBI 125 gr out of a 16" CMMG barrel at 1079 fps; no leading so far Link to comment
MacLethal
I'm currently running Bayou 135s with the same load as my production ammo, no leading issues. Link to comment
MacLethal
I'll add that my barrel is 7.5" also, and I haven't ran them through a chrono yet. Link to comment
Bamboo
Been using primarily coated and even some cast lead....no barrel leading issues in my KV 16 inch barrel. Every once in a while I'll run some winchester white box just to clean things out, mainly it blows the build up in the comp out! Link to comment
AJquinn
I'm currently running Bayou 135s with the same load as my production ammo, no leading issues. That's my plan too.Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using Tapatalk Link to comment
CZ85Combat
I run 147gn Blues in my 16" PCC. 147gn 2.5gn N310 @ 1.140 132pf 900fps. Why are running yours at 1200fps? Link to comment
Broncman
They are 125 grain. Not 147. Trying to load them down to about 1100 with the 125's. Inspected it today and the barrel is fine, just lead in the compensator. Going to keep shooting the Blues. Link to comment

Is it lead or is it coating in the compensator? I have a case of 125 gr Blues to shoot up. But not in my PCC if its a hassle to clean. Link to comment
Broncman
Hmmm, not sure . It might be the coating! Will check again. I love the Blue Bullets. Shot a match today with them in my XDM and did great. 4th Overall. My XDM loves them. Link to comment

brisix
With 125Gr SNS with Titgroup I had extreme leading in the barrel and comp of my 16in carbine. With my pistol the barrel was just dirty but you can see from the pic I had leading on the end of barrel and threads. Plus the inside of the Kaw Valley linear comp was coated in lead. I believe running a hot powder like Titegroup in the longer barrels of the Scorpion pistol and carbine result in more leading compared to my SP-01 Tactical. I get a very small amount of leading in the grooves of my SP-01 after 10k+ rounds. Edited April 9, 2017 by brisix Link to comment
Broncman
Cleaned my Scorpion. Clean barrel but the compensator was definitely lead. Link to comment
wgj3
I think the crud that cakes in the comp is lead and carbon fouling, thus the black color. It chips out without much effort once built up a bit. I just use a small screwdriver and soft mallet to tap it loose. I get it with Bayou, BBI, ACME, cheap powder coated, moly coated, etc. Link to comment

(Two matches and no re-shoots. Success}. My practice range has lots of "cowboy action" steel to play with but does not allow plated or jacketed bullets to be used on it. My Blue Bullets load has been approved for use. Bill Link to comment
