sstephns
Anyone tried it? Thinking about trying it with a black hand stippled 2011 grip. Not sure how it'll affect the grip texture or if it'll rub off after time.
slimm609
You need to get a good clear coat or it will come off fairly easy from what I have seen. A friend had it done and it didn't hold up to well by itself
sstephns
I guess I'd need to find a clear coat that's fairly resistive to cleaning solvents
darkvibe
Moly resin comes in matte clear. No clue if applying it over hydro dip would work or not.
Glk21C
couldn't you just use a clear lacquer from a spray can? Like done when sealing up a painted grip. Used that on my stippled and painted grip, holding up fine after several years.
KrymSIX
You might want to check some of the guitar building vids where they do hydro dip swirls. It looks like a lot of them are using professional 2 part spray clears to protect them. The problem I could see happening is a lot of the clear coats are going to have a slickness to them, even the matte coat ones which would kind of defeat the point of or at least work against the stippling
sstephns
I'll look into those suggestions, thanks
