pbcaster45
I just tried this bullet today. I didn't chronograph my load but it was probably well over major PF. Sorry, forgot to take a picture of my groups too (D'Oh!) I couldn't find any mention of this bullet being used in another post but I doubt I'm the first... Bullet: Everglades 230 gr. JHP Powder: Hodgdon Titegroup 4.7 grs. Primer: Federal 150 Case: Federal LOAL: 1.222 Recoil Spring: 17 lbs. no buffer pad I'm really phishing for load data from others - so if you've got something using N310 or WST please chime in. njl
Those look like Zeros, only more expensive. [emoji3]4.7gr WST should give a mild but major pf load.
pbcaster45
I thought those might be similar to Zero's, but I can never seem to find any to try!
njl
Back when I had easy access to a place where I could do it, I tested that load (w/Zero) into lined up jugs of water. In that test, the core popped out of the jacket, but there was expansion and potentially more wound channel as the paths would likely diverge. pbcaster45
@njl, Thanks for the heads up! Zero's are cheaper!
pbcaster45
I doubt this load is making major but it sure is soft shooting, accurate, and pleasant to shoot! Anyone chronograph a similar combination? Bullet: Everglades 230 gr. JHP Powder: VihtaVuori N310 3.75 grs. Primer: Federal 150 Case: Winchester LOAL: 1.220 Recoil Spring: 15 lb. kimberacp
when I was shooting 45acp, TG gave a harsh recoil "bark" in 45acp. Clays or WST are better powders to use with a FMJ 230 gr and i was using a 14lbs recoil spring. At times it felt like cheating with that load. pbcaster45
Agree, love the accuracy I get with Titegroup but it does seem snappy compared to WST and N310.
