StealthyBlagga
I am rebarreling my 1911 5" .45 pistol, replacing the original Springfield GI barrel with a match barrel. Currently it has a regular (non-ramped) barrel. Any reason I should consider a ramped barrel? Or stick with another non-ramped tube?
jcc7x7
No real advantage or need with a
Bamboo
^^^ What jcc7x7 said. Unless the frame is already cut for a ramped barrel there is no advantage in a .45 1911.
RangerTrace
In my experience, the most reliably feeding .45acp 1911s do not have a ramped barrel.
troupe
Save the money and have a non ramped barrel installed. I have two 1911's in 9mm that are not ramped and they run great.
zzt
SB, stick with non-ramped. Go with a Kart or BarSto bushing barrel. If doing this yourself, the Xact-Fit (Kart) and Semi-fit (Barsto) both require little work to fit.
