Ar style safety for shotguns

It seems like a neat idea but I think it is a solution in search of a problem.

I was foolin' around with my M1 this morning, and it looks like unless you're running a pistol grip, there is no way this thing would be useful. Since most, if not all, are not running pistol grips in 3gun, hand placement makes this safety un-reachable with the thumb.

Funny, I just converted my Ar 10 to a crossbolt style safety from Elf Tactical and like it way better than the original selector lever.

I think this is more aimed at the "tactical" crowd and not the gamer crowd. I personally LOVE PG's on everything I own because of the added control, weapon retention, and stability that it gives me. Of course, at the cost of being able to load the shotgun the way a 3-gunner would to be competitive.

 

That said, I am curious about this item from a mechanical perspective, and how righteous it really is on that front. A safety should never be what you rely on, but then, neither should it EVER be a questionable item, either. Kindof like a good warranty...
