As an old-school Redleg, Sill is like my second home - really glad to see the leadership there allowing this event to take place.  Unfortunately, it's scheduled the same weekend as Wild West MG or I'd be there for sure.  Best of luck with your inaugural match and hope to join you next year!

We have had a few questions concerning the visitor policy here to Ft. Sill.

Here are the answers.

What we will do is once you are registered March 15th, I will post the visitor instructions in the "match book".

In order to get access to Ft. Sill you have to get a visitors pass which includes a quick name check, similar to when you buy a firearm.

What the Garrison Commander has authorized for this event is that we post a mailing address for you to mail or email your one page pass application, so we can do it in advance.

We will complete the paperwork here and email you when complete.

Friday the 16th from 1200 - 1800 (early arrivals, zeroing and stage walkthrough) or Saturday the 17th from 0530 - 0830 (shooters brief at 0700 match starts at 0730), we will have all shooters come through Key Gate West (exit 41) off highway I-44 and you will receive a welcome bag with your pass, instructions to the range, we will have a single lane identified specifically for match attendees so there should be little to no delay for you at the gate.

Another questions was concerning what type of ID you can use to get on post.

The "real ID act" is a federal law passed that made every state be required to produce their ID's to a certain standard and Oklahoma is one of the states that hasn't updated their ID yet, but we have an exception and can accept the Oklahoma ID, if anything changes before the match we have a long list of alternative ID types you can use in place of the Oklahoma ID.

It will take less than 5 minutes for you to fill out your paper then send to me to get put on file.

It is all streamlined to make our match a fun and exciting day without any delays or distractions.

Our Facebook page is now up and running also.

Fort Sill Multi-Gun Championship

If you title the facebok page Fort Sill Multi-gun Championship - rather than "2017 Multi-Gun Championship" it will be easier for people to find without the direct link.  It doesn't have the Ft. Sill in the title.

Thanks for the reply, the direct link to our Facebook page posted above is working, but we will take another look.

I am also interested to know if this will be a one day match or not, and how many stages can we expect.  I love the low entry fee, but at an 8 hour drive, I need a solid day or two of shooting.

The event is getting better and better by the day and this will be a first class event.

We believe you can have a Major match that doesn't take two days, doesn't cost almost $300 and doesn't have over 250 shooters, we want to have a match that is appreciated and respected by the competitors.

We will be having a one day match with 5 stages.

These are big stages on wide open Ft. Sill Ranges with a good amount of "shooting and moving". Anything from close up paper to 500 yard automated knock down steel.

The main match day is Saturday the 17th but we will have some openings for shooters on Friday the 16th as well walkthroughs on Friday.

We are able to keep the entry fee low because we don't have an overhead of equipment to buy, Ft. Sill is set up with great range space and plenty of equipment that we are setting up especially for a 3 gun match.

This will be a full day of VIP treatment at a great price, starting with a catered sit down breakfast at the range, a full 6-8 hour day of shooting and the final award ceremony / door prize drawings to be held at the Jack Daniels Club and restaurant down the street from the ranges. There will be food vendors at the ranges for lunch sales as well as Army equipment displays.

We will be posting information on Hotel deals in the area in the next week.

Thanks again.

Thanks for the effort into the response.  I would certainly like to make it if possible, if anything, just to support more military competition.  I think that will be an easy sell to get a permissive TDY.

Is this match anything like Ft. Benning ? Or is it a whole different monster?

We won't have parachute dismounts, low crawls or tunnels this year.

We will have obstacles, various shooting platforms and great scenarios with impressive target arrays that will test everyone's shooting abilities equally. Our expansive, wide open ranges give us the "blank slate" to develop big, straight forward stages that will meet Major shooting match expectations.

This week we did add a bonus stage that, if you can complete it within a specified amount of time, you will get a bonus time reduction for your overall match time.

Its going to be a great time, not to mention the award ceremony and door prizes after the match at the Ft. Sill Jack Daniels lounge and restaurant.

Good Afternoon; We had a question about our longest rifle targets:

We have 3 of our 5 stages (not counting stage 6, the bonus stage) that will have medium to long rifle, one that will go to about 100 - 150 yards, another that will be all rifle and go from 50 - 300 yards with timed targets, and the final stage with an array of electronic reactive steel going from 50 - 400 yards (to include close up rifle paper targets mixed in), all from various firing positions and postures. We have the capability of going double that but we wont (this year). General round count as of current stage testing is estimated at a minimum with a perfect shot ( 70 Pistol, 65 Rifle, 55 Shotgun, 6 Slug) as stages develop more the round count will change. Our range development team is putting together great stages that will require good quality shooting. there are no bay style stages here, the match will take place on 5 Army ranges that are all next to each other so you will drive a very short distance (a few hundred yards) to each stage, no range carts needed.

More big sponsor announcements coming next week !
