brytec
I had put together AR9 with PSA Glock lower, spinta bcg, JP spring and buffer, and 16in faxon barrel and fortis comp. Looking to see what's everyone's load with 147 xtreme Bullets? What powder and how much? What is your OAL? I just ordered the 147 xtreme to try out but don't know what powder and how much would work best. TIABryanSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Link to comment
IntenseImage
I was using 3.7 of WSF w 147 Xtremes ... Haven't chronoed but I'm sure the PF is up there since it's 130ish in a 5" barrel. To help, I simply swapped to a 124 bullet to lower PF. If I dropped the charge weight I could go back to 147s Link to comment
Flatland Shooter
147 Xtreme RN @ 1.085" over 3.0 gr N320. My PSA barrel requires I load short. Link to comment

hump
147 extreme with 3.2 of titegroup at 1.135. Cycles well but is dirty. 100yd groups are about 3in Link to comment
chuck s
147gr xtreme with 3.2 WST or N320 work well in my PCC at 1.14. Both around 132 PF. I am now trying 165gr xtreme with 3.0 WST or 2.9 N320 at 1.135 and it too is around 130 PF with a little less dot movement than the 147s. If power factor is not an issue, 124 gr xtreme's with 3.0 WST is pretty amazing as far as dot movement, but only around 105PF. All cycle fine in my gun, but none of them would cycle an MPX. corny
Hodgdon reloading data is what I used for that bullet in my PCC. I loaded it to max according to them. 4.2 gr of CFE behind a 147 RN HP bullet with Winchester primers 1.100 coal. I still need to tweet it. 33,000 chamber pressure. I had a case separate yesterday at a match. 3rd match with that load. Not a lot of difference between my other load. 124 gr Montana gold HP with 4.5 gr CFE 1.080 coal. Gotta load the Montana gold a bit shorter because of the ogive. My MG loads are about 865 fps. I have to chronograph the 147's. Edited February 6, 2017 by corny Link to comment
whatsupglock
I've been fighting with this question too. I ran some chrono data and listed it in another forum on here, but Sunday I went out for round two and used only xtreme bullets. Here's my data (these are multiple shot averages): PSA AR9, Colt Platform with PSA Barrel, Bolt and Buffer. FYI I've decided to use 2.5 gr of Titegroup at 1.160 oal with CCI primers and a 0.376" crimp. This load shoots well and that oal has proven to be incredibly reliable regarding feeding into the chamber. All loads are CCI primers at 1.160" oal and a 0.376" crimp and Titegroup. 54 degrees and overcast. 147 gr Xtreme, 2.5 gr = 877 fps group 1 and 882 fps group 2. 128,919 pf/129,654 pf. 147 gr Xtreme, 2.6 gr = 898 fps group 1 and 906 fps group 2. 132,006 pf/133,182 pf. 147 gr Xtreme, 2.8 gr = 982 fps. 144,354 pf. 147 gr Xtreme, 2.9 gr = 1000 fps. 147,000 pf. 147 gr Xtreme, 3.1 gr = 1014 fps. 149,058 pf. 124 gr Xtreme, 2.8 gr = 998 fps. 123,752 pf. (this load is 1.135" oal, 1.135" on the Xtreme is the maximum length I can load before the bullet gets slammed into the rifling.) Link to comment
Neil E.
I wish Hornady made a 9mm Caliber Modified Case like they do for rifles. Link to comment
