taco101
October 9th was a beautiful day in Santa Fe, NM. I love to race my bike and this day was the first Cyclocross race of the year for me. The days prior were dark with family tragedy. A hard race would clear my mind...(was also missing the High Desert Classic...) Well, I was almost done warming up when I took flight. Exactly how I don't know. I do know when I landed it sounded like a baseball bat breaking. That was my humerus and glenoid breaking into a bunch of pieces. Ambulance ride to a great hospital, 7 hour surgery, then 3 months of rehab and I am at least back to work. Still doing rehab. But Saturday I was able to hit the range for the first time since the crash and 9mm didn't hurt at all! Gonna hit a match this Saturday...We'll see where I am in my recovery then. I promise only to blame some of the Charlie's on my arm.........
