wyliearms
I shoot a 16" Shilen match grade SS cut by Craddock Precision. No matter what I tried I did not like the 165's. I went back to 147's. 124's for anything other than Steel Challenge. Edited January 17, 2018 by wyliearms Link to comment
Flatland Shooter
My USPSA gun is a old style (short throat) PSA 16" barrel. For the 2017 shooting season I was quite happy with 147 gr Xtreme plated round nose bullets over 3.0 gr n320 (PF 132). After reading comments about lighter bullets running at higher velocities, I did a bit of experimenting. For the 2018 USPSA shooting season I will run 147 gr Xtreme plated round nose bullets over 3.3 gr n320 loaded at 1.085" AOL (PF 145). A little more recoil but less muzzle movement. Shoots nice small groups at 25 yards. I will also dabble a bit in UML (United Multi Gun League) this year using a PSA 16" new style barrel (long throat) shooting 125 gr Zero JHP over 3.8 gr n-320 at 1.110" OAL. I'm getting right at 2" groups at 100 yards. Velocity is 1075 fps (PF 134.8). Gun is zero'd at 75 yards for the MTAC scope and 10 yards for the FastFire III mounted at 45 deg. Last month I picked up a Taccom ULW barrel and will play with this as time and weather permit. Edited January 17, 2018 by Flatland Shooter Link to comment
JAFO
This load is not tuned to my PCC, I'm just shooting my Production load. 124gr Ibejihead, Winchester small pistol primers, 3.6gr Titegroup, 1.08" OAL, mixed brass 1204 fps (avg for 20 shots) from a Nordic 16" barrel 149PF The above load gives me 134PF in my 5" X5 Allround, for comparison.
