mro111lland
You're in the ball park, depends on how it feels to u and how flat it shoots most run 170 to 172 power factor the more gas u make the flatter it shoots (in theory )

abb1
I like to keep my PF at 5 over major. Shooting IPSC in Canada, I shoot at 165 PF. If I was to shoot in USPSA, I would go 170. To me that 5 extra PF is a safety net. I just chrono'd my 124's and they average 1340.8 FPS, or a 166.3 PF. bret
on 124s .38 super comp, I run about 10.6 grains of N105, 1450 FPS, it's a 179 PF, but I am more concerned about the Dot moving than being too close to 165 PF. If the dot didn't move at 185 or 190 PF, that is what I would shoot.

I'm OLD at this, and how well the comp works (that extra 3%) means nothing to me - I have too many other problems that I'm doing wrong - why Push It? Pick a nice safe, flat, accurate load that works - and stick with it for a while

rmj339
Ok got another question...... Testing loads got to a 176.7 pf.....suddenly the gun was shooting the same point of aim at 15 yds and 25 yds. Previously I had signed in at 15 and 25 was high. No signs of op ....my question is is this where I want to be. I am assuming this is what yall meant by shooting flat.. Thanks for all the help. glockman75
Flat means less flip of the gun. Your point of impact is how the bullet travels in trajectory while affected by gravity. 18 yards is where I'm zeroed. I would not run a hot load. Less is more. A hotter load means more wear and tear on the gun and the benefit of more gas on the comp is negated by more recoil. I would keep it at 168-170 PF. Don't waste your time chasing the perfectly tuned round. Learn to move more efficiently, shoot sooner, more accurate and faster. Shoot more! Have fun shooting, not screwing with your reloader and chronograph. Want better recoil control? Do 20 push-ups per day, get stronger!
