CZ at the Chronograph

I’m posting some results from my “chrono” outing today.

All rounds fired from a CZ Tactical Sport in 55 degree weather

1.      200g Bayou RN, OAL of 1.123”, 3.3g Alliant e3, Dominion Defense Brass (processed range brass), Winchester SPP made on a 550B press, 15 test shots

a.      Mean velocity – 832.93 FPS

b.      SD – 11.9 FPS

c.      PF – 166,587

2.      180g ibejiHeads RN, OAL of 1.123”, 3.8g Alliant e3, Dominion Defense Brass, Winchester SPP made on a 550B press, 10 test shots

a.      Mean velocity – 951.00 FPS

b.      SD – 10.03 FPS

c.      PF – 171,180

#2 pretty much matches my Limited load.  Mixed HS brass, CCI 500 primer, e3 and various 180gr bullets at 1.126" OAL.

3.6 e3 and LTC bullet = SD 6.17, 167PF 20-round test

3.7gr e3 and LTC bullet = SD 4.85, 172.9PF.  With BBI bullet- SD 6.90, 171.6PF. With Falcoated bullet- SD7.15, 176.1PF.  All 10-round tests.

I tested some rounds yesterday out of my TS40 with 200 gr Blue Bullets, and WSP's, to 1.130" with two powders (WST & CSB-1)

WST was far more consistent and metered better, but CSB-1 felt softer and is significantly less expensive.

I'll need to get the sheet on the CSB-1 and follow up to this post, but the WST results were:

3.8gr - 843 avg, 5.5 std/dev, 168pf, 10 shot test

4.0gr - 876 avg, 5.4 std/dev, 175pf, 10 shot test

 

I loaded up 200 more at ~3.82gr and will put another 20 through a chrono after my match this weekend.
