Need help for getting mags to drop. XDM 9

Any tips to help me out? Had a couple problems getting some mags to drop free with tactical and combat reloads.

Do the mags fall free when not doing "tactical and combat reloads?"  Is the gun being held upright?  Are you fully depressing, then releasing the mag release?

Does it only happen when going fast / high stress / at a match?

The most frequent cause of this is technique - you have to get on the release out early while the gun is still on target. As you pull the gun back to reload it's no longer vertical, and gravity isn't helping you the way it's supposed to.

Ensure it isn't technique, then we move on to diagnosing equipment.

Odd! I have never hand a problem with any of my Springfield's, in this regard.

Hmmm! Yea it was on speed drills standing on a seesaw type platform. Blame everything but me yea that's me.

Technique is the first thing you should be looking at if you are having issues.  If you film your match runs you can see what you are actually doing, not what you think you are doing.  If you are performing the reload correctly you should hit the mag release prior to removing your support hand, & prior to introducing any cant or twist to the gun.  Polishing the mag bodies & replacing the magazine spring will ensure smooth release of the mag during reloading, but everything else is technique & geometry.

With the proper grip one can not press the mag release button with the support hand still gripping the gun.

Yeah, my weak hand is already moving to the magazine on my belt, as I release the spent mag.

Turns out I was late on the mag release and trying to drop the mag at an angle.
