mikeinctown
Just wondering if anyone has been able to test fire or own a Colt competition. I've been thinking of picking one up, but am unsure if I would want a 45 or 9mm. I already have a 45 in a Sig tacops, but was thinking of grabbing something different. (I'd rather just leave the night sights on my Sig and leave it factory) Plus I don't yet own a Colt 1911 and want one.
Foxtrotx1
I love mine. I have had no issues with it through a number of brands of ammo and my own reloads. I changed out the Colt proprietary duel recoil spring system for a 14lb traditional one just to reduce muzzle dip with soft loads (20 bucks in parts). The duel system did feel really nice with full power loads though. Reliability has been 100 percent except when I was learning how to reload plated SWCs. I'm pretty happy with the purchase. There are peoople out there who will buy those blue colt grips if you don't like them. I sold mine for 60 bucks and threw on some VZ Recons. CTD_P2A
Colt is bringing both series 80 & series 70 style pistols to the market now. No firing pin block sounds pretty good.
