FLGR on 1911

Is it necessary to have the FLGR relieved/chamfered so it does not hit the link area/frame

on 1911.

I see some are from the factory and from custom gun builders.

I had to relieve the back on my EGW FLGR to fit my STI SS. chucked it up in a drill and used some sand paper as a poor mans lathe.

we used to call that a Craftsman, Dewalt, insert name precision lathe.

Some guns will need it, others won't. If you see marks on the head of the guide rod that weren't there before, yes, you need to do it.

Dan thanks. haven't shot the Sig Max yet with it- will shoot a match and look at it during the match.

I shot with you back in that day- J Dix, P, Feeley, R. Lambert, B, Herd and all the Harvard boys!

Put a little dykem on it first or some permanent marker. Make it easier to tell.
