I am using the SIG brand buffer tube adapter. That has some advantages over the cheaper ones since it puts the stock at the correct height (the cheaper ones leave it slightly too low), and you can still fold it to the side.  I like the SIG thin side fold but wanted a better cheek weld. I don't like the feel of the collapsing stock. Springer Precision also has an adapter that lets you use the Magpul Yugo stock.

Give it some time to break in but if you need a bit more gas then you can send it off to have the gas port opened up slightly. Taylor Pickerell is doing a lot of that work.

I have a pair of MPX carbines set up for PCC. I am running 6 moa C-More Railway dots, the Sig adapter and a Magpul CTR stock, and Timney Targa triggers. On my MPX number one, the Timmey trigger failed to reset today on a drill. I cleared, loaded and repeated the drill, and again had the same problem, which was a dead trigger, that seemed not to reset.

I popped the upper up, looked but didn't see anything, blew in there, lowered the upper and reloaded. The trigger then functioned properly for approximately 50 rounds, at which point I went to MPX 2, as I have two matches this weekend. Tonight I cleaned the bore with a snake, cleaned and lubed the BCG, and tooth brushed the trigger area.

The trigger that acted up has probably 2,000 rounds through it. Thoughts?

I shot a friends MPX carbine the other day and I was amazed at the recoil difference.  It is a lot of money for the carbine to shoot in PCC, but as shooters, we spend a lot of money to gain a slight advantage to get a pat on the back for a match win , but there is a advantage.  If I had the funds, I would have one so I may be able to get my pat on the back.

My MPX is still running great!! Haven't done much but load mags and promptly empty them.

I am really thinking about getting a different stock though. What are  Y'all using as a replacement stock?

MPX_zps1fealkdd.jpgYes, sir.

Hey Shadyscott999, who makes that stock adapter?

I'm doing an almost identical MPX. Going with the Hiperfire ECL trigger and UBR stock.

I have seen a prototype Raptor charging handle for the MPX. No idea when it might be out but it wouldn't hurt to let you them know if you are interested.

alma is there any updates on this charging handle? my factory one is gonna break any moment now, both roll pins popped out half ways

Jesse Tichauser posted a pic on his IG of a Raptor like charge handle from Next Level Arms for the MPX. No clue when it will be available.

I got mine from Title II Arms.  It has been rock solid for almost a year now.

That one from Title II Arms looks really nice and strong. I like it!

My adapter is from Thordsen. It's not as nice looking, and comparing from pictures, the Thordsen seems to put the stock a little lower.

But hey, it only costs $43 and it's been solid for me so far.

My MPX is a Gen2. Despite breaking it in with over 600+ rounds of hot factory rounds (Speer Lawman 115gr), it still wouldn't cycle my soft 124gr and 147gr from FM. They doublefeed and stovepipe consistently.

So finally I had my local gunsmith open up the gas port/barrel to .060". He turned it around in under a week, I didn't have to ship it anywhere and it cost only $50.

Now it cycles everything. I wish I'd done this sooner instead of wasting so much ammo, time and frustration trying to "break it in".

For anyone complaining about the price of MPX magazines, they have continued to go down.
As example, here is a holiday deal on three Gen 1 MPX magazines for $60.

For anyone interested, the 3 Gen 1 mags for $60 linked to above is still good. I tried the link just for giggles yesterday and it showed in stock. I placed an order yesterday and got the shipping confirmation a few minutes ago.

The MPX is stupid but the recoil impulse is slightly softer the my JP so I had to buy one.  $1200 later it almost doesn't feel like the crappy $1800 MPX that came in the SIG box.

Besides the Lancer handguard and Ace stock, what have you done to uncrappify your MPX?

Thanks!

So you find the only difference to be slightly softer recoil and you went with the $3K platform?  I'm curious why you went the MPX route then.  You are a big, corn-fed guy and I wouldn't think 9mm recoil would be that significant a factor for you in picking a winning platform.  Don't get me wrong..... I went with the MPX and have dropped a decent amount of money in it as well but the ARs I shot including the JP seemed to have significantly more recoil and dot bounce, but then I weigh 180 soaking wet and never played with buffers, springs, whatever with the JP.  Plus I had to have a left side mag release.  Is there anything else you prefer in the Sig?
