BBQRibs
Here's a helpful vid by Dave Dawson if you haven't seen it. He mentions their own sights being counterbored, but it's a good guide for any brand. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Mx2Hg06Q4Y I'll just add for emphasis: Try to be conservative applying heat to melt the rod ends into nice little bulbs. Too much and the fiber can end up looking dim and crappy. Edited August 30, 2016 by BBQRibs

SlvrDragon50
Yup. I just bought a yard of fiber optic so I don't feel bad about messing up an install. This guy sells it pretty cheap at $5.55 a yard + $3 for shipping. All different colors too. http://www.fiberopticproducts.com/Archery.htm
Sarge
I learned a few things about FO rods along the way. 1. Not all FO rod is created equal. The Dawson rods are brighter than others for some reason. 2. Change them often. Heat, oils, and smoke all kill the rods over time. Pretty cheap to replace them 2-3 times a year. 3. Titegroup kills rods faster than anything. The rods will get hot and break and of course fall out. 4. Put a spot of super glue under the center of the rod. Even if the rod breaks at least half will stay put.
