jkrispies
Can anyone recommend a quality .22lr snap cap? I've tried the plastic ones over the years and the rims rip off almost immediately. Been trying spent cases but they are a PITA to insert. Will try to crimp the mouth of one next to ease that process and maybe solve my problem. Anybody discover a really well manufacturered one that I should know about? Thanks, J

AustinWolv
Dry-wall anchor. Someone suggested it here long ago. Has worked nicely enough in a little use that I've used a couple.

AustinWolv
Don't know off-hand. Might be able to check once I get home........I have a bunch of sizes in a screw bin organizer, so I just grabbed a couple that fit.......sorry.

ParaLarry
Brownells has nice metal .22 snap caps, even weigh the same as loaded .22s.
jkrispies
Thanks for the info, guys! I definitely want to explore the drywall anchors. Beside my .22lr experience with the rims riipping off, there's also the issue of losing them because they're so small. A bag full of drywall anchors is both cheap and plentiful. jkrispies
LOL. Just ordered a set off eBay, and the first review it had was to say that they make great snap caps in a .22lr.
jkrispies
I keep meaning to reply that these things work freakin' amazingly. I load one into the mag, then they chamber just like a real round. Once the rim gets a little too flat, I just toss it and grab another. I couldn't have asked for a better recommendation from BEnos!
